5/17/2017 LeGarrette Blount Signs with Philadelphia Eagles as They Continue to Revamp Their RosterRead NowBy DjackLeGarrette Blount, has finally found a home this offseason with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles signed the 30 year old veteran running back to a 1 year deal worth close to $3 million. This is a huge addition to a backfield that needed help and consistency at the position. The addition of LeGarrette Blount will do just that, he can pass block for Wentz, he's basically an everydown back, and short yardage situations there are few better than Blount. This is a huge acquisition for a team that desperately needed help at this position since Ryan Matthews was a total bust. He'll end up being cut as a result of this acquisition.
Philadelphia has bolstered their offense quite a bit this offseason. Adding a pair of offensive lineman, a pair of receivers, and a new pair of running backs with Blount and Donnel Pumphrey, who they acquired in the draft. The Philly offense should be greatly improved as long as Wentz doesn't regress. The moves they have made have to lead you to believe the Eagles are trying to win right now and believe Wentz is ready to do so. Honestly, as a Giants fan I'm real nervous right now. Eagles were supposed to be the bad team in the division this year that we could get some easy wins against. Now, they might be competing for the division title if Wentz continues to progress as a QB. The Eagles defense was already very good last year with the additions of Chris Long, Patrick Robinson, Derek Barnett, and Timmy Jernigan they've only gotten better. The entire offensive side of the ball looks completely different except for like the 5 good pieces they already had. Eagles quietly became the real deal this offseason and everyone in the NFC needs to be put on notice that this Eagles team is a totally different team than last year.

By DjackKaepernick has finally received some interest after 2 months of not getting a single phone call. The Seattle Seahawks are apparently interested in Kaepernick and RG3 for a backup role with the team. Either one of those guys can easily take over for Russell Wilson if he is to go down and they'll be able to continue running the same type of offense. Kaepernick is obviously the better choice since for one I think he's the better QB and he has proven that he can stay healthy.
The real reason for this blog is to discuss if Kaepernick was truly being black-balled. I wrote a blog months back saying how he was because of the protest he pioneered last season. I knew teams would be hesistant to sign him since it'd be a media fire storm, so I thought it'd pan out like a Tim Tebow situation. Kaepernick can be a viable backup to a franchise however, Tebow was not. That's the real difference and probably is why the Seahawks are willing to maybe take a chance on him. I believe Kaepernick was being ignored by a majority of teams due to what happened last year, which is totally fine and understandable, who wants to bring that drama into their lockerroom for a backup QB. I still think Kaepernick could play, though, why not give him a shot if you're the Browns, not like you have any better options. The fact he went so long without being picked up is mostly because a lot of teams don't start filling out their rosters completely until post NFL draft, so now we'll see if he gets more attention. I'm sure he just wants any job he can get at this point, but if he doesn't get a job that's bullshit. I wouldn't call it him being black-balled like I did a couple months ago, although I would say he's been unfairly punished by the media for this whole thing, basically leading teams to not want to deal with that drama. I get it he brought it upon himself, it still doesn't make it very fair. Guys get jobs in the NFL after assault, gun charges, and murder, but protesting, no you've gone too far. By DjackPro Bowl Receiver Josh Gordon, who was 22 years old when he broke onto the scene as a star, has once again been denied a return into the NFL. Josh Gordon hasn't played a full season since that amazing 2013 season. It's now 2017, Gordon is now 26 years old, and with this latest denial it's probably time to give up on this guys return to the league. In 2014 he came back for the last 5 weeks of the season after missing the first 12 due to a suspension for smoking weed. Then, on the plane ride home from his final game of the season he had an alcoholic beverage. The next morning he was drug tested and once again suspended for violating the NFL's drug policy since he's supposed to be completely sober once he enters the drug program. Now, he's been suspended indefinitely ever since, and will continue to be.
Gordon has no one to blame but himself. This man must've failed at least 5-10 drug tests to even get himself into this position to begin with, so at what point is he ever going to get it if he just continued to keep failing. This is such a sad case, wasted talent to the maximum. Gordon put up insane numbers with the Browns in 2013, who was even throwing him the ball, and he still managed to rack up 1,646 yards and 9 touchdowns. This man averaged almost 20 yards per reception, that's big boy shit. Such a shame that a special talent like this went to waste for something so stupid. Browns were ready to move on anyway, they drafted Corey Coleman, and they just recently signed Kenny Brit. They obviously weren't relying on Josh Gordon being availiable to them, even the Browns aren't that stupid. I'm sure they would've loved his addition to the offense however, dude is an unreal talent there's no denying that. I would've liked nothing more than to see Josh Gordon back on the gridiron, but if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Gordon had a million chances and continued to prove his incompetence when it comes to following the rules. Now, he has to suffer for his sins. Then, when he finally retires in a couple years the NFL will take marijuana off the banned substance list and his career will have been ruined for nothing. By DjackLeonard Fournette, is the most highly touted running back to come out of the NFL draft since Adrian Peterson. Since that's the case, Fournette will now face comparisons to AP whether they are fair or not. Can the great LSU running back following in the footsteps of AP's career, possibly passing his legacy, or will he fall far short? These are the types of discussions that are going to take place before Fournette even takes a carry in the NFL. Fair or not, it should be an interesting debate.
Coming out of college everyone knew AP was going to be a` force to be reckon with in the NFL. The kid was so fast, so strong, and so explosive many feared he'd burn himself out after 5 years in the league. AP exceeded any and all expectations on his way to becoming one of the best running backs to ever step foot on the gridiron. Comparing the two college careers of these phenomenal talents, Fournette is clearly the better back. In a 130 less carries, Fournette had 200 less yards than AP. Since Fournette averaged 6.2 YPC in college, that means if he had the same amount of carries as AP he would've had around 600 more yards. That's a pretty big margin, especially when you take into account Fournette is playing in the SEC, a way tougher conference than the BIG 12. If college performance means anything than Fournette has the upper hand going into the NFL. Unfortunately, I don't think the college performance translates whatsoever. Fournette doesn't have the same it factor to him that AP had. AP could do it all, he was faster than you, stronger than you, and was quicker than you, meanwhile Fournette is probably just stronger than you and in the NFL everyone is pretty damn strong. AP's skill set was built for more success in the NFL, I think Fournette will still be a very solid player, although I don't think he'll ever even sniff AP's greatness. Just facts, players like AP come around once in a lifetime, the dude was special. Fournette has all the intangibles to be a great running back in this league, however he doesn't have all the intangibles to be the next Adrian Peterson. By DjackESPN: Josh McCown wants to be the New York Jets' starting quarterback. He expects to win the job and keep it. Yes, he's still competitive after all these years and all those stops in his career. But the 37-year-old McCown also recognizes there's more to this gig. He's getting $6 million to be a bridge quarterback, which, in the language of the NFL, means he'll play until someone younger is ready to take over. "That's the goal," McCown said Wednesday, commenting for the first time since signing in March. "You go in to compete and win the job. If it changes, it changes. My mindset is to come and learn the offense, do everything I can to master it this spring and training camp. Then, if I'm the guy, play the position as well as I can until it changes. "Obviously, as a competitor, you don't expect that to change. You don't want that to change. I plan to go out and play well." Josh McCown, certainly is quite confident that he'll be starting for the Jets in September and why wouldn't he be. Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg are both nothing, reports are Hackenberg is so bad they don't even want to show him to the fans, he's that atrocious. As a second round pick that's usually not a very good thing. These two quarterbacks not panning out could be the fatal blow to GM Mike Maccagnan's job. Petty looked decent at some points last year, although it was hard to tell with the leash they had him on. If Bryce Petty can't beat out a 37 year old journeyman QB in Josh McCown, then he has no future in this league.
That's about the only thing I liked about this McCown signing. Now, you get to see if Petty is worth the time, if he can't beat out Josh McCown for a job, then you know what you have in him. As for Hackenberg, there's no way he can beat out McCown or Petty, apparently the guy can't even complete passes in practice. When McCown wins the job it'll once again show the Jets have no answer or plan at the QB position, which has been the franchises downfall for 40 years. At least the Jets will only wind up winning like 2 or 3 games since McCown isn't going to win them many games, so they'll end up with the #1 or #2 overall pick. That means the Jets can draft a QB like Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen, finally giving them the potential for a franchise QB for the first time in what seems like ever. The Jets will manage to mess that up too I'm sure, just can't give them nice things they'll just find a way to ruin them. I'm sorry Jets fans, but this was really the last thing you wanted to hear. Have fun watching Josh McCown be your quarterback this year. By DjackJay Cutler will be joining Tony Romo on the list of QB's that quit football to become broadcasters this offseason. This move certainly comes as a surprise, no one really seemed interested in signing Cutler thus far, so I think that factored into his decision a lot. Cutler was who he was, a gunslinging QB that didn't really give a shit, or at least that's how he made it look. Anyways, he had peaked in his NFL career, no team was going to trust him with keys to the franchise and give him a true opportunity to lead a football team for the foreseeable future. Why would they, he's proven time and time again that he isn't quite as dedicated with his mental preparation for the game as the elite QB's in the league. Ultimately, this was the right move for Cutler, will it work out is whole different discussion.
Jay Cutler, will be joining the Fox broadcast team with Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis. Apparently, he went in for some sort of audition, impressing the people at Fox enough to put him in the 'B team' booth immediately. Obviously, he wasn't going to take Troy Aikman's job like Tony Romo replacing Phil Simms, Cutler just isn't that important. Still to walk in and get a gig like that is still pretty impressive, even though it's because of who he was. The real question is will he be good, though? Well, Cutler was never really great with the media, although that might've just been his spiteful I hate the world Jay Cutler attitude. I mean the media did always give him a hell storm, even though his body language typically asked for it. Cutler is going to need to bring charisma, positive energy, and straight facts to the booth if he wants to be a quality broadcaster. The fact he didn't prepare well for his job as a QB in the NFL, leads me to believe he won't be too dedicated to the broadcasting gig either. He didn't like talking to his teammates on the bench during games, so it's hard to believe he'll be getting along with co-workers in the booth. Honestly, all the facts might point against Jay Cutler being a good NFL color commentator, although I believe he'll be better than expected. Cutler his entire life in the spot light has been the guy that always got the photo shopped cigarette in his mouth. Everyone always painted this black picture behind Jay Cutler. His body language sucked, he never looked like he cared, and he was everyone's cup of team. For some reason I believe he's going to try to change that narrative when he enters the booth. He's definitley an extremely smart guy if he went to Vanderbilt, let's be honest they're not really known for football there. The smarts are there, there's no denying that. I could see Jay Cutler being brutally honest up in the booth as well, which you won't get a lot of the time. We will just have to wait and see how he pans out at Fox just like we will wait to see how Tony Romo works out. There's a lot more pressure on Romo to perform however since he's the lead analyst at CBS and Cutler is on the B team at Fox. Who knows, maybe Cutler will be a Hall of Fame commentator, sure as hell won't be a Hall of Fame quarterback. By DjackAll Richard Sherman trade talks can finally be put to rest. Pete Carroll, put an end to the rumors that surrounded the organization for most of the offseason by saying there's a zero percent chance of Sherman being traded. Just last week rumors were swirling about Sherman wanting to go to the Patriots to create some sort of super secondary in Foxborough, although those always seemed far-fetched. After the NFL Draft went by and Sherman remained a Seahawk, that's when it was basically confirmed that he would remain in Seattle for at least the 2017 season.
The future of Sherman's place in the NFL is still uncertain, as is most players that are on the back end of their prime. Once the most feared corner in the league, Sherman is still a pro bowl type player, although he is nowhere near as dominant as he used to be. We've seen father time take corner backs earlier than most positions, even the most dominant of corners such as Charles Woodson and Darrelle Revis fell off hard after 30. Woodson adjusted and became a dominant safety at the end of his career, will Revis do the same, I guess we'll find out. Sherman is going to have to make that transition in a couple years, that's just the reality of football in this day an age, and if he can't adjust his career will be ending well before 35. Reporters asked Pete Carroll if there would be any animosity between the two and obviously Carroll denied there would be. I don't think there should be or will be any animosity either, Sherman is a mature guy, he's definitley outspoken, but he carries himself the right way and understands this is a business. Sherman being upset with the team would do nothing for either party, at this point just put the rumors in the past, and move forward trying to get a second ring out of this core group of guys. It'll be a real shame if this Seahawk team that has been together for what, 5 years now, doesn't get that second ring after building such a strong roster. By, BobGiants fans I do not think any of us are surprised with the announcement by Ben McAdoo today. Paul Perkins has been named as the 2017-2018 starting running back and I am hyped as fuck. This kid knows how to run and showed flashes of being a capable starting running back in this league. Coach McAdoo stated while on air on WFAN Monday morning " Paul Perkins is going to be our starter out there on first and second down, and we've added some competition in the room in a variety of ways," McAdoo said. "Shaun Draughn, Shane Vereen is coming back, we drafted Wayne Gallman , so it's going to be interesting to see how the running back room shakes out."
Although I am not a fan of journeyman Shaun Draughn joining the squad since he's washed at his point, i reallly like the Perkins -Vereen combo. With Perkins doing most of the running and Vereen catching balls all over the field, it just brings another threat to our already stacked offends. I do not know much about Gallman, so it will be interesting to see his role and if he pans out to be relevant. Throw in the slight chance we actually steal Blount away from New England and well low key have a nice running game. I am already too hyped for this season, and it's looking bright for the New York Football Giants. By MukAs expected by many, Jamaal Charles has signed with his former division rival, the Denver Broncos. There was were reports that the Broncos were going to bring Charles in to evaluate him, and it seems that today's physical and meeting went well, and the two sides have agreed on a deal.
The deal is reported to be a 1-year deal worth $3.75 million, and Charles will look to be the Broncos starting runningback, hoping to pass over C.J. Anderson. Jamaal Charles has been a star in the league for most of the last few years, but has missed 24 games over the last two seasons due to injuries, so that is what resulted in the Chiefs moving on from their stud runningback. Charles is a big addition to the Broncos if he can stay healthy for them, and if they can get some consistent QB play this season, the Broncos may be moving back towards the right direction. Let's hope that not only can Charles stay healthy, but that he can help the Broncos get back to the playoffs. By DjackLet's be honest for a second, this horrible injury that occurred to Bridgewater bailed the GM the fuck out. Let's not forget Rick Spielman drafted Christian Ponder 10th overall, arguably one of the worst first round picks ever. He's made up for that drafting great everywhere else, but once again he drafted a shitty QB in Teddy Bridgewater.
The Vikings were able to cover up his flaws in the first two years making him a glorified game manager. All he did was dink and dunk his way to a comfortable 3000 yards, throwing less than a touchdown per game, essentially just trying not to lose the game for his team. Then, he goes down with this injury and everyone is acting like they lost their franchise QB, when he was never a franchise QB to begin with. Vikings have Sam Bradford now who isn't the worst and he proved he was way more effective than Bridgewater throwing for 1000 more yards than him this season. Spielman got bailed out by this injury because now it's the freak injury that ruined the pick, not just bad scouting, apparently he was just going to blossom into a franchise QB out of nowhere after being mediocre for 2 seasons. Bullshit, obviously not extending his contract was a no brainer the guy sucks, and now his knee is destroyed. Vikings get to sneak there way out of this Bridgewater situation and the next time we see Bridgewater in the NFL it probably won't be in a Vikings uniform. |
