By DjackI'm a poor blogger so I can't afford the NFL network, therefore I didn't get to see a minute of this game. Turns out it was quite a blessing from god because like most of the Thursday night games so far this season, it was a real snooze fest. For a good majority of the game AJ Green had more yards personally than the entire Miami offense had altogether, ESPN made sure we knew that because they tweeted about it close to 100 times. The Bengals defense looked like they were rejuvenated last night with the return of their emotional leader Vontaze Berfict. They only let up 7 points to Miami and 220 yards of total offense, they basically made sure the Dolphin knew that they were a joke in this league. I was talking about how good the Dolphins front 7 was in my preview for this game and they lived up to my hype, the secondary on the other hand showed just why I didn't mention good things about them, AJ Green, the Bengals only real offensive threat with Tyler Eifert out, went bananas on the Dolphins secondary as he put up absurd receiving numbers. 10 receptions, 174 yards, and 1 touchdown, just another day at the office for AJ Green. Bengals took care of business winning this game 22-7, this win keeps them in contention for the division because we all know if the Bengals were 1-3 they weren't catching the Steelers and Ravens this season. Dolphins are dead, no surprise their because this team hasn't been good since Don Shula left, this organization is pathetic and there's no hope for them with a college wide receiver at quarterback. Thursday Night games need to pick it up, I understand that color rush is supposed to add flair to these horrible match ups, but we need good football not good apparel. Do better NFL.

By BobThis is the least surprising thing I have heard all day. Josh Gordon is the definition of a waste of talent. Do not get me wrong, I respect his choice to walk away from the game for a bit to find himself and get better, but he literally had the past two years to do so. This guy has not played a snap of football since 2014 and it is now extremely doubtful he does this season as well. What is even worse is that he was set to return after week, to a Browns team that is in desperate need of help with Terelle Pryor being a one man show. This is Gordon's statement regarding his decision to check into rehab: "After careful thought and deep consideration I've decided that I need to step away from pursuing my return to the Browns and enter an in-patient rehabilitation facility," Gordon said in a statement. "This is the right decision for me and one that I hope will enable me to gain full control of my life and continue on a path to reach my full potential as a person." Enough of the empty promises Gordon I am so sick of it. If you really cant lay off marijuana in order to become an all-pro football player then you have some problems. I would not even be surprised at this point if he never ended back in the league he is that much of a burden. I am sorry to the Cleveland Browns organization, because your chances of winning a game this season just went from 50% to 0 real quick.
By DjackThis is a huge game for both these teams in terms of playoff chances. Both these teams are 1-2 and neither one of them wants to or can afford to fall to 1-3 if they plan on making the playoffs. The Dolphins have proven that their passing game is decent, but their run game has some question marks around it with Arian Foster out with an injury. The Dolphins defense on the other hand is finally looking like the defense that they paid for, they're only letting up 21 points per game and they're pass rush is 7th in the league in sacks. They have a real front seven and Tannenhill shows burst of being a really good quarterback, so the Dolphins could potentially make a run at the wildcard, but the division is New England's and no one is coming close to taking that from them. The Bengals on the other hand have looked very disappointing this season, coming off one of their best seasons if not their best season with Andy Dalton, the Bengals look like they've taken a step back. They've been missing a few pieces on defense including Vontaze Burfict who is a huge difference maker so getting him back tonight will be a huge boost for that recently sluggish defense. The offense lost a couple weapons in free agency, Tyler Eifert has been out with an injury, and the lack of weapons surrounding Dalton has hurt him as a QB. He is not nearly doing as well as he did last year up to this point, the offense still has weapons with Jeremy Hill and AJ Green, so I cut Dalton no slack, if he wants to be a franchise quarterback that can win playoff games, he needs to lead his team to victory tonight. Not just tonight though, Dalton needs to become a consistent force to be reckon with if he wants to be a highly respected quarterback in this league, I'm telling you right now the Ravens and Steelers aren't losing much sleep over preparing for Andy Dalton. I believe in Marvin Lewis and this Bengals team, I think they'll make a statement tonight on Thursday night football and handle the Dolphins soundly. The Bengals really can't afford a loss tonight, if they're 1-3, while the Ravens are 3-0, and the Steelers are 2-1 about to be 3-1, they have such a slim mathematical chance on winning that division, and we all know the wildcard is always a tough road for any team. The Bengals keep their heads above water tonight and beat the Miami Dolphins 34-21. If the Dolphins can get a run game established and they're getting a lot of pressure on Andy Dalton, look for this score to flip flop the other way. Should be a good display of football either way, love the defenses on both sides in this game, and we got two young quarterbacks looking to take that next step, so I'm certain we're in for a treat tonight. One teams playoff hopes will still be alive after tonight and the others will be crushed barring a major turnaround in their season.
By Djack"At the end of the day, you play for the guys that wear the jersey. They're the ones who take the field with you, who you share the blood, sweat and tears with. I'm just going to go out and be who I am." This quote was said by Odell Beckham Jr. today at a press conference, this was in response to Coach McAdoo's comments after Sunday's game saying that Odell needed to control his emotions better.(I already wrote a blog on McAdoo's comments click here) I respect Odell for playing with a ton of passion, but there is a fine line between being a diva, and being a guy that plays with a controlled fire inside of them. Bashing your helmet into a kicking net, crying on the sideline, and throwing hissy fits is being a diva. Pumping up the crowd on the sideline, getting your teammates fired up, and playing with 100% effort on the field at all times is how you properly express your emotions during a football game. I don't like how Odell is firing back at McAdoo, shows a lack of respect almost. You never want to see your star playing and coach having public disagreements, just shows that your team isn't buttoned up. I'll tell you one thing, shit like this would never happen under Coughlin, it was what he says goes or you go. I hope Odell doesn't turn into a TO, OchoCinco, Dez Bryant type of receiver that is more caught in being a polarizing figure than a football player. I don't think that will happen to Odell because this kid wants to win more than anything and I love that about him, but he needs to know when he's letting his emotions get the better of him, it makes him look mentally weak. He did wrap up the question by saying "I'm just focused on the Minnesota Vikings" shows that he's ready to move on and get back on the winning track. Odell and McAdoo, I don't care what y'all agree and disagree about, just get us a win Monday night.
DjackSam Bradford was the #1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft, he was drafted by the Rams, and he was coming off a Heisman season at Oklahoma. Everyone thought Sam Bradford was the next elite QB, he had the big time arm, he had the right quarterback build, and he was supposedly exceptional above the shoulders. He went to the Rams and was supposed to be the savior, we all know how that went, he had absolutely no talent around him, and he got beat up due to the lack of protection he got from his make shift offensive line. That led to him needing two ACL surgeries and a unsuccessful start to his NFL career. He was then signed by the Eagles who had him for one year where he broke basically every Philly passing record, but he just couldn't win games due to lack of surrounding talent. Now, this year he gets traded to Minnesota for a 1st round pick, everyone is killing the Vikings saying what a dumb trade it is, but does Minnesota make many bad decisions upstairs? No, almost never. So now Bradford comes into an organization where he doesn't need to be THE GUY, he now longer is being looked at as the #1 overall pick that has to carry a team to victory. The Vikings are a team that is led by their defense, so now Bradford can play within himself, let the defense shutdown the other teams offense, and slowly pick apart the defense he is facing while taking care of the ball so he doesn't put his defense in bad field positioning. Sam Bradford has only played two games so I don't want to get carried away, but he's starting to look like a real NFL quarterback, and he is certainly better than what they had with Teddy Bridgewater. The Vikings having to trade for Bradford was a blessing in disguise, they now have a QB who can throw the ball down the field with good accuracy, something Bridgewater couldn't do. Bradford is a lot like Jim Plunkett, a guy that was a highly touted prospect coming into the league, got thrown into horrible situation with no talent around him, finally found a team with a good defense and other talented players on offense, and he won two Super Bowls once he got onto the right team. Bradford isn't Peyton Manning worthy first overall pick, but he was definitley not a bust by any means, and he could start building a legacy in Minnesota if he can keep this up. I bet if he gets rid of those horrible sleeves he will be even better, just a piece of advice though.

By BobGrim news for you Houston Texans fans out there, as the best defensive player in the league might be out for possibly the whole year. It is reported that defensive end J.J Watt has re injured his back and it is apparently quite serious. ESPN's Ian Rappaport was the first to announce the rumor, stating Watt "has re-injured his back and is expected to be out for an extended period of time. Could be the season." Watt had surgery this past off-season and started the season on the PUP list but has had limited play in the first three games of Houston's season.
This is a huge blow for a pretty competitive team, who will surely miss a once and a lifetime player. Even with injuries over the past couple years he has been able to dominate at a level far beyond any of his peers on the field. Shutting down J.J for the season may actually be a smart idea. If his back is indeed in that bad of a condition, then let him heal up and be ready for next season. If these first three games have shown fans anything, its that Brock and Lamar seem to be like the real deal and by getting other defensive ends some playing time the team may be able to find another hidden star. I wish nothing but a speedy recovery for this stud, you hate to see injuries ruin anybody's season but sometimes its for the greater good. By DjackThis guy just doesn't get it, no NFL team was going to sign him this year anyway because he's proven to be a cancer in the locker room, but this put the nail in the coffin for his NFL career. Once deemed as a feared pass rusher, Greg Hardy is now just deemed as a piece of shit scumbag. I have no problem saying that either because that's just the truth of the situation, this scumbag threw his ex-girlfriend onto a futon full of assault rifles as he almost choked her to her death. That's disgusting and the fact he was even allowed to comeback and play in the NFL after is a disgrace to the league. Well, he couldn't find a job this offseason in part to his reputation and the fact he's just a horrible human being to have around the guys in the locker room. Greg Hardy cannot stay out of trouble, he was recently arrested for possessing cocaine, shows that this guy is really maturing and is headed in the right direction... I know he's never going to get signed back into the league but the NFL should just give him a lifetime ban to really kick this scumbag in the nuts. This guy has had 3rd and 4th chances and has just made a mockery of the people giving him those chances, do the right thing this time NFL, make sure this scumbag never has the opportunity to profit from the game of football again, he clearly doesn't deserve to.
9/26/2016 Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie both Listed as Questionable for next weekRead NowBy DjackEli Apple and Dominique Rodgers Cromartie both left Sunday's game with injuries. Eli Apple had a hamstring injury that he suffered early in the first half and DRC had a groin problem a little later on in the game. As soon as they were out of the game though Kurt Cousins certainly started looking like a 20 million dollar quarterback, there's definitley some correlation there. Apple has been nothing but great for us ever since joining the Giants, we all shook our heads on draft night but now he's looking like he can be a star corner one day. DRC is always important to have on the field we pay him big money for a reason, he was a pro bowler last year, and it looks like he hasn't lost a step whatsoever. We all saw him get toasted by Desean Jackson but he was letting Jackson have the middle of the field because Landon Collins was supposed to be helping over the top but he bit on a route underneath like an inexperienced safety does. If we want to have any chance of beating Minnesota next week we really need these guys back, we're going to need all the help we can get so we can't be missing two big pieces of our secondary. If only one can comeback that'll suffice because at least we have Leon Hall to play the nickel, but if they both can't comeback we're screwed. Trevin Wade showed me enough last week that I never want to see him on the field in a Giants uniform ever again, I'm sure he's a great guy, he just can't cover for shit. All Giants fans I need you to say a pray for our boys DRC and Eli Apple because if we don't have them next week, Sam Bradford is going to make himself look like an elite QB on National TV, and we certainly don't want that happening against our defense.
By Djack"[Beckham] needs to control his emotions better and become less of a distraction to himself and to his teammates," McAdoo said Monday on a conference call with reporters. "It's our job to help him with that process and maturing." - Via ESPN Jordan Raanan I completely agree with everything Coach McAdoo said right there, Odell needs to keep his emotions in check and not throw hissy fits on the sideline when things aren't going his way. With that being said, I do love how Odell plays with so much passion, you rarely that find that in players nowadays, but sometimes he lets it go too far and it starts effecting the team. Now, Odell was wrong, but Coach McAdoo this is a two way street, you're the guy that is supposed to make sure this kid has his emotions in check. You think this shit happens on team coached by Belichick, I don't think so. McAdoo has to get this team more disciplined, Odell might've been making a ruckus on the sidelines, but the Giants also had a 11 penalties, that's a sign on a very undisciplined football team. Mind you, a few of those penalties were unnecessary roughness calls that were blatantly malicious and had nothing to with the actual plays going on, one of them ended up costing us a blocked punt. Weston Richburg got ejected for getting two unnecessary roughness penalties, that's just embarrassing, and we lost our starting center for basically an entire quarter so that didn't help our cause. Ben McAdoo you can say all you want about Odell acting up, but you're the coach, no one else is going to fix that issue besides you and him. So thank you captain obvious, Odell needs to stop acting like a diva, look at yourself in the mirror though, you need to do a better job being a head coach. I know this is only his third game but come on now, the team hasn't had a well rounded game where we've played well in all three phases yet. McAdoo is a young inexperienced head coach so I'll give him room for mistakes, something needs to start working soon though because this roster is too talented to not be in the playoffs.
