Grim news for you Houston Texans fans out there, as the best defensive player in the league might be out for possibly the whole year. It is reported that defensive end J.J Watt has re injured his back and it is apparently quite serious. ESPN's Ian Rappaport was the first to announce the rumor, stating Watt "has re-injured his back and is expected to be out for an extended period of time. Could be the season." Watt had surgery this past off-season and started the season on the PUP list but has had limited play in the first three games of Houston's season.

This is a huge blow for a pretty competitive team, who will surely miss a once and a lifetime player. Even with injuries over the past couple years he has been able to dominate at a level far beyond any of his peers on the field. Shutting down J.J for the season may actually be a smart idea. If his back is indeed in that bad of a condition, then let him heal up and be ready for next season. If these first three games have shown fans anything, its that Brock and Lamar seem to be like the real deal and by getting other defensive ends some playing time the team may be able to find another hidden star. I wish nothing but a speedy recovery for this stud, you hate to see injuries ruin anybody's season but sometimes its for the greater good.
