By DjackThe real title of this article should be "the Giants embarrassed themselves on Sunday night football" because Green Bay was not impressive whatsoever. Tonight was the night for our offense to break out, we were going up against a Green Bay secondary that has been decimated by injuries so our elite wide receiver core should've had a field day. Too bad Eli Manning couldn't hit broad side of a barn tonight, he was inaccurate to the point that it cost us points, and several first downs. I'm the biggest Eli fan there is, but when he performs like he did tonight there's no defending him. The offensive line did not do a great job of protecting him that's for sure, but there is no excuse for him being inaccurate on passes that he's made a million times. Our pass rush that was supposed to be much improved, has not been existent through the first five games, as much as I'd love to blame Vernon and JPP, I can't, these two guys are work horses that play the majority of snaps, and do an outstanding job against the run. Steve Spagnuolo needs to figure out a way to get pressure on these quarterbacks though because Rodgers on many drop back tonight had well over 5 seconds to throw the ball. Still with all that time Rodgers was struggling to make anything happen, I guess that's a testament to how well our secondary played. With Eli Apple back in moderation tonight, along with DRC back in the starting lineup the secondary was much better than last week when they were both absent from the game. Janoris Jenkins kept the Giants alive for the majority of the game because he had two big interceptions, too bad the Giants offense wasn't able to capitalize by scoring touchdowns off those turnovers. Thank god he had those interceptions though, because if he didn't we would've lost by 20 points tonight. I'm starting to face the sad reality that the Giants made a horrible decision in firing Tom Coughlin and hiring Ben McAdoo, what we are seeing from McAdoo as this team's head coach is embarrassing. Starting with the way he has handled the Odell debacle, this issue should've been put to bed right away, instead it became a national story. The team continues to get killed by penalties and turnovers, the job of the coach is to make sure your team is disciplined so they don't beat themselves, and that's all the Giants have done. I believe we have all the talent necessary to be a very good team in this league, we just can't manage to get out of our own way. I'm not going to give up on the Giants just yet because in the NFC East anything is possible, but as a right now there's not a whole lot to be optimistic about. I don't care what the score of tonight's game was we could've won this game, we could've won all our games most likely, but we just continue to beat ourselves because of our lack of discipline. So until we can fix the simple things, we will continue to lose, there's a whole lot of football left so let's hope we can fix it, or this will be a very long season.

By MukAfter another wild college football weekend, we will take a look at who is leading the pack in the Heisman Watch.
1. #AndStill - Lamar Jackson remains the number 1 frontrunner for the Heisman trophy, and in spectacular fashion. Louisville had a bye this week, but through his 5 games, he has accumulated a total of 2,313 yards and 28 touchdowns, and although he and the Cardinals lost to Clemson, he was unstoppable and single handedly kept them in the game. This kid is something special and I see him having no signs of slowing down. 2. Deshaun Watson - Watson has began to pick his game up just a bit more, and has thrusted himself higher into the Heisman talks to where we all expected him to be. He has over 1,500 yards on the season with 18 touchdowns, and another 239 yards on the ground. Clemson's huge win over Louisville was not possible without Watson's nearly 400 yards and 5 touchdowns. He has thrown a few too many interceptions, so once he gets that under control he should continue to have not too much trouble with opposing teams. 3. Jake Browning - The Washington Huskies are the number 5 ranked team in the country, and Jake Browning is a huge part of that. The Sophomore QB has been lighting it up, going off for 6 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns against Oregon this weekend. He has a total of 23 passing TD's, 3 rushing TD's, and only 2 interceptions, the kid is killing it thus far. 4. J.T. Barrett - Barrett struggled through the air this weekend against Indiana, but he rushed for a game-high 137 yards and a TD, and helped lead the Buckeyes to a victory. With a slow week this week for J.T., especially statistically, he will need to rebound next week, against a brutally tough Wisconsin defense. Barrett's 913 yards through the air and 13 touchdowns are a good foundation for him to take off, tacking on an additional 342 rushing yards good for 4 scores. Players to watch: Jabrill Peppers, Michigan ; Dalvin Cook, FSU ; Christian McCaffrey, Stanford ; Trevor Knight, Texas A&M ; Greg Ward, Houston PS - Jabrill Peppers of Michigan is in my opinion the greatest athlete in the country, doing it all for Michigan between defense, rushing, and returns. By MukThe greatest QB in the history of the NFL returned from his 4 game suspension today, as he and the Patriots traveled to Cleveland where they rolled over the Browns. Brady looked real sharp, and came out of the gate red hot, leading a scoring drive with 65 yards on his first drive, and Blount punched it in from inside the 5-yard line. Brady finished 28 for 40, with 406 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, with 0 interceptions. Tom Brady became the first player 39 years old or older, to throw for 400+ yards, 3 TD's and 0 INT's.
Brady and the Patriots are looking scary good this season, as the team went 3-1 without Tom and now are clearly even better with him. Roger Goodell truly put the entire NFL in a horrible position because the last player you want to face is an angry Tom Brady, and that is exactly how he is gonna be this year. The #RevengeTour is alive and well and the Pat's will look to spare no one. #FireGoodell By Djack25 Virginia Tech vs 17 North Carolina: I guess ACC Coastal Football isn't completely dead as they have 3 teams ranked in the top 25 going into today. Well, that number was going to go back down to two after today because one of these teams were going to have to lose. The Tar Heels were at home and coming off a huge win against Florida State, so all momentum was in their hands coming into this game. Virginia Tech got defeated by Tennessee in their first test of the season, but tonight they looked to redeem themselves against a conference rival on the road. They'd do just that as they annihilated the Tar Heels, when I say annihilated, I mean Virginia Tech left this game with the victory, and all the North Carolina players girlfriends. They were men amongst boys out their on the field today as they won 34-3. North Carolina had 131 yards of total offense, they turned the ball over 4 times, they were only able to pick up 8 first downs all night going 2-14 on 3rd downs. Those numbers will boot the Tar Heels out of the top 25 next week, for good reason. Virginia Tech could give Miami a run for their money, I wouldn't be shocked to see Virginia Tech in the ACC championship game after today's performance. 6 Houston vs Navy: Houston blew it today, any hopes they had of playing in the college football playoff came to an end today. I'm hyped because even though I'm more of an Army guy than a Navy guy, I like to see our armed forces schools kick ass against big powerhouse programs. Although Houston is not a power 5 conference team they are clearly the best team not in the power 5 and they were ranked 6th in the nation. I would've liked to see Houston run the table but if anyone was going to beat them I'm glad it's Navy. Navy threw the ball 5 times today, yeah you read that right they only threw the ball 5 times. The even funnier part being that of the 5 passes attempted they completed 3 of them for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns, so nice job Houston secondary way to stay awake out there. Navy played like a high school football team, but somehow it worked because they were able to run for over 300 yards. How bad is Houston's defense that they knew the run was coming literally every time and they still couldn't do anything to stop it. This game was back and forth all through the first half, the score would be a deadlock at 20-20 going into halftime. That's when Navy began to put away the Cougars, they'd open the second half with three touchdowns in the third quarter, one of which came on a pick 6. Houston's defense was worn out by the time the 4th quarter came around and their offense was down by 14. They'd pull within one score of tying the game after opening up the fourth quarter with a touchdown drive. Navy would do enough to hold on as they forced a safety and got a field goal to pad their lead. Navy pulled off their biggest upset since 1984 so you know it's a good day to be a sailor. 9 Tennessee vs 8 Texas A&M: A double overtime game that had no business being even close to an overtime game, just goes to show Tennessee has some good fortune of their side. Although the Aggies won, they should not feel all that satisfied with this win, they should've absolutely murdered the Vols today. Tennessee turned the ball over 7 times, how does a team manage to let a team with 7 turnovers hang around, and push it into a double overtime game. If Texas A&M lost this game the entire team should've quit the team, they were up 28-7 in the third quarter, and they were very close to losing this game. It surprises no one at this point that Tennessee made a huge come from behind effort because they've been doing that all season. Tennessee fought all the way back to tie this game late in the forth quarter when Josh Dobbs threw an eighteen yard touchdown pass to tie the game up at 35 a piece. The Aggies still had 41 seconds though, they'd move down the field with ease as they got themselves into field goal range with the chance to win the game in regulation on a 35 yard kick. Too bad the Tennessee head coach who was pushing all the right buttons tonight was able to get in the kickers head, and the kick missed by a mile. This game was headed for overtime, now this was one of the least dramatic overtimes I've ever seen though. Tennessee had the ball first they had to settle for a field goal. The Aggies would have to attempt a field goal as well, everyone in college station held their breathe and prayed to the football gods that this has been soccer player didn't miss the chip shot field goal again. He would drill it right through the uprights though, Texas A&M would start with the ball in overtime #2, and they'd score a touchdown with ease. Tennessee had a chance to redeem themselves though, on the first play of their drive Josh Dobbs would throw his second interception of the game, as the Vols go down just like that. Trevor Knight was player of the game tonight, he had 5 total touchdowns, and scored the game winning touchdown on a savage run in which he drove himself right through a defensive back for the score. Texas A&M gets a huge win, Tennessee's playoff hopes are probably dead, and neither of these teams will be in the playoffs regardless, but another legendary game that Tennessee was involved in. This team has a knack for doing some magical things despite always shooting themselves in the foot, I believe it's all in part to their coach doing a helluva job. 23 Florida State vs 10 Miami:
Florida State was the #2 overall team in the country just two weeks ago, after back to back losses they find themselves barely hanging on in the top 25, and things didn't get any easier for them tonight as they had to take on a renewed Miami program. Miami got their first test of the season tonight as they're about to go into the tough stretch of their schedule, if they can come out of this next 4 game stretch undefeated they'll be heavily considered as a team to be in the college football playoffs. Miami dominated the first half of this game, Florida State was unable to get anything going, and the drives that they did have something going for them ended in turnovers. Miami was up 13-0, FSU was able to score on their final drive of the first half making it 13-3 going into halftime. Florida State was not dead though, they started the second half with a 3 and out, so it wasn't looking good right off the bat. Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya threw an interception in the red zone which would shift momentum towards FSU. FSU would take advantage off the turnover, they'd capitalize with a 6 play 80 yard touchdown drive to pull within 3. They forced another Miami three and out right after, now they had their chance to take a lead, and start forcing some pressure onto Miami. They'd do just that as they went on a 7 play 60 yard touchdown drive to take a 17-13 lead, their first of the game. Would Miami be able to fight back or would they fold now that the pressure had been shifted to them. They'd allow three more points to Florida State making the game 20-13 as they had to look to tie it late in the fourth. The only problem being that their offense hadn't been able to do anything in the second half to this point. They were finally able to break through late in the forth with under 2 minutes to play when Brad Kaaya threw a 11 yard touchdown pass. It was all for nothing though as the extra point was blocked and Florida State held onto win 20-19. Probably the most devastating way to lose a game, let alone the most demoralizing way to lose a big game that's most likely going to define their season. An extra point could be the reason the Hurricanes don't make the college football playoffs, but a blocked extra point might've just saved Florida State's season from spiraling out of control. What a way to cap off an epic college gameday. By DjackBroncos announced earlier today that Trevor Siemian is not ready to come back from a shoulder injury that he sustained in last Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. That means it's time for rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch to make his first NFL start. Last week Lynch played the majority of the game, he played quite well as he went 14/24 for 170 yards, and he threw his first career touchdown. It also came against a horrible Bucs defense so it's hard to tell if he'll be able to execute against a better team. The Falcons defense isn't that much better than the Bucs so it shouldn't be too much harder for him to perform, I actually think he'll do quite well. As for Trevor Siemian, he may have just fucked himself over by getting hurt, Siemian was going to be a one year guy for the Broncos so they could give Paxton Lynch some time to turn into a real NFL quarterback. Well, if Lynch comes out and continues to play like he did last week, but for an entire game, Siemian may not have a job anymore when he is finally healthy. Either way some stupid team like the Browns or something will overpay Siemian based on his first 3 games, and he'll get paid so I don't feel too bad for him. This could potentially be huge for the Broncos though, if Lynch can come in and be efficient, that could really that this team to the next level and make them a clear cut Super Bowl contender. Either way they won't be able to get past the Patriots, but this could be huge for the future of the franchise if Lynch can come in now learn from experience while winning the Broncos games, and he'll have the defense as his safety net like Siemian does. This whole situation could play out into a very interesting situation, before we vote Siemian off the island let's see what type of performance Paxton Lynch delivers Sunday.
10/8/2016 Red River Rivalry Doesn't Disappoint as Texas and Oklahoma have a Battle for the AgesRead NowBy DjackWow, what a way to get college gameday started, one of the best college football rivalries of all time, Oklahoma vs Texas took place today, and boy did it live up to expectations. Every year they'll talk this game up and it'll never live up to the hype, this year was a different story though, these two teams renewed this glorious rivalry today. There was little to no defense played in this game today, there was some turnovers, but there wasn't many punts, in fact there was 7 punts in the game, 6 of them coming in the first half. The first half was pretty tragic for Texas as they blew opportunity after opportunity. Oklahoma opened up the game with a solid drive to get things going, the drive ultimately stalled out, and they settled for a field goal attempt that the kicker would miss. This gave Texas decent field positions and some momentum. Their first drive wouldn't even last a minute, they went 3 plays for 3 yards, and punted it away. Oklahoma got the ball back and threw an interception, so now the Longhorns had great field position and all the momentum. The offense literally looked like they had never played football before, this time going 3 plays for 1 yard, leading to another punt, and another missed opportunity. I'm not joking literally the same thing happened again Baker Mayfield was picked off, again, giving the Longhorns great field position again. This time the Longhorns managed to get some points out of it by kicking a field goal, but still not getting touchdowns on drives that you only need 30 yards is going to hurt you in the long run, and it did. The Texas offense continued to struggle though, they got the ball back once again while they were up 3-0 having 1 total yard of offense to this point, and they fumble the ball giving the momentum right back to Oklahoma. In the Red River Rivalry the momentum factor is one of the biggest keys to winning the game. That would be the spark the Sooners needed, they scored a touchdown off that turnover. Texas came right back though putting together their first successful drive of the game which led to a touchdown of their own, so the game is 10-7 at this point. The Sooners would score again before half on a touchdown and the Longhorns also kicked a field goal as time expired in the half, so the score was Oklahoma 14, Texas 13 going into the second half. This is when all hell broke loose and defense stopped being played. Texas came right out of the half and scored on a huge touchdown pass to take the lead back 20-14. The Sooners would come right back with a huge touchdown pass of their own to re-take the lead, 21-20. Texas came right back again taking the lead once again 27-21. That's when Oklahoma went on their run, they scored touchdowns on three consecutive drives after that as Texas offense began to stall out once again. Oklahoma was putting so much pressure on the Texas team to score points to keep up them, they were turning the ball over, and now found themselves down 42-27. The Longhorns would not give up though they came right back scored a touchdown of their own making it 42-34. Oklahoma would have an eight minute drive after that eating much of the fourth quarter clock on a drive that led to a field goal making the score 45-34. At this point the game looked as if it were over because it essentially was, Texas didn't think that way though as the marched down the field in under a minute to score a touchdown to make the game 45-40. They failed to recover the onside kick though, this would be the end of what could've been a magical come back, all in all though great game for both sides as the entertainment level was through the roof. The reason Oklahoma won this game was simple, they scored every damn time they had the ball in the second half, literally every drive they had in the second half resulted in a score. Now that's how you make up for a slow start, Oklahoma picks up their second straight victory over a quality opponent as they start to creep their way back up through the top 25. Texas on the other hand, things are not looking good, but things are looking especially worse for Charlie Strong as he is most likely going to get fired. The Red River Rivalry finally lived up to the hype for the first time in several years, I can speak for all the consumers when I say this, please have the game like this every year, god damn, was that fun to watch. It's nice to see these power programs back to being power programs.
By DjackDerek Anderson will be the starting quarterback for the Panthers Monday night against the Buccaneers. Luckily for the Panthers they're playing the Buccaneers, against almost any other team I'd say the Panthers have no shot, but even with Derek Anderson I'd still say the Panthers are the favorite to win this game. I thought the Bucs were going to surprise a lot of people this year, with injuries to Doug Martin and a lot of their better defensive players like Gerald McCoy, the season has taken a turn for the worst. The Buccaneers will once again be a below .500 team, although I still think they can make something out of this season, they won't make the playoffs, but they can still set themselves up for next year by showing they can win big games this year. Jameis Winston picking up a win over Carolina on Monday would be huge step in the right direction. The Bucs have a shit load of injuries themselves, but they need to take advantage of a Cam-less Panthers team, the Panthers defense is still the real deal so Winston will certainly have his work cut out for him. If the Panthers manage to lose this game I still wouldn't say their season is over, although starting the season 1-4 doesn't give you a good chance historically speaking. Panthers are in a very weak division though, maybe the weakest in all of football, so they can afford to lose games because they could probably win this division at 9-7. Everyone is flying high the Falcons, what's changed from last season with that team, nothing, they'll burn out, and end up going 8-8. The Saints and the Buccaneers aren't going to even be able to get back to .500 at any point this season, so the Panthers realistically only need to win 9 maybe 10 games to get back to the postseason. Cam will be back next week, or at least he should be, and the panthers will get back to their winning ways. We definitley know the Panthers aren't the same team they were last year, doesn't mean that they aren't still playoff worthy because they most certainly are. Cam needs to get down or get out of bounds because he can't be playing with this reckless attitude, hopefully the Falcons linebacker that concussed him knocked some sense into him. No one wants to see Derek Anderson on the field, I bet Derek Anderson doesn't even want to see himself on the field. Cam do yourself a favor, avoid getting hit like Russell Wilson does so well, you can be as big and as strong as you want, but if he continues to get hit like he has been this season, Cam isn't going to have a very long career.
By BobThe time has come San Diego fans, your first round pick is finally suiting up for his first regular season game. After months of disagreements, a hammy injury and pure nonsense its finally time for the rookie to show if he is the real deal. It is unknown yet how much playing time the youngster will get, but if he is anything like his college-self then stay tuned for chaos. This guy straight up murdered guys while at Ohio State and if he is 100% healed I am anticipating the same result. San Diego has been pretty mediocre so far on the defensive side of the ball so they could use some reinforcements against a lethal Oakland team. Even with Bosa playing there is no doubt Derek Carr is going to tear them to shreds and prove why he is the best up and coming quarterback. The Chargers will probably play it smart his first game back and not give Bosa many snaps, but i personally do not think that is a good idea. Find out right away if this man can be a team leader and build the rest of your defense around him if he pans out. San Diego might not be sticking around, but wherever they relocate to Bosa can be a star for years to come. Here are some of his most deadly college highlights, as you will see this man straight balls up each time he suits up and is a huge difference maker no matter team he plays on. By DjackHere we go, after last night's horrendous performance, Blaine Gabbert's starting role is now in question. If I'm Chip Kelly I've seen all I need to from Blaine, this is his ceiling, a quarterback that can make a few plays, but is more inconsistent than anything. Colin Kaepernick on the other hand has shown in the past that he can be a lethal weapon at the quarterback position. I don't ever expect him to get back to quite the level of play he was at during that Super Bowl run, not based on his talent, just because the league has changed so much, I don't think he could run all over defenses like he used to. His arm still has a ton of juice in it though, you can clearly see when he's warming up in pregame that his arm strength is better than Gabbert's. He's always had that missile arm, the question has always been can he make good decisions, and throw accurately. Those are two huge question marks to have at the quarterback position, but the only way the question marks get answered is by playing him. Anyone that brings up last year's efforts out of Kaepernick, please don't. He had a gym teacher as his head coach, you really think Jim Tomsula can elevate a quarterback's play like Jim Harbaugh or Chip Kelly, so just stop with that nonsense. Chip Kelly made Blaine Gabbert playable in this league, I think he's the best coach to have when you're trying to save a quarterback's career. Chip Kelly got Sam Bradford to put up big numbers for the Eagles, essentially breaking every single season passing record there in just one year, not too shabby. What do the 49ers have to lose, their team is absolute garbage, they'd be lucky to win 5 games this season, start Kaepernick, find out if he's still got something left in the tank. Worst comes to worst Kaepernick still sucks, but hey at least now you confirmed that fact. If that's the case you'll end up with the first pick of the draft so you'll have Deshaun Watson to come save your franchise. I believe Kaepernick can be a decent quarterback in this league under Chip Kelly, let's just see if he will ever get the chance to prove it.
By DjackWith Palmer inactive for this game we all knew it'd be an ugly football game for both sides, usually it'd just be an ugly game for the 49ers, but with Palmer out this Cardinals offense doesn't have much of a passing game. Nine punts started off this game so they set the tone early, neither team was going to be able to move the ball down the field with ease, and each team would have to rely heavily on their running games. Automatically advantage Arizona, not only do they have the better running back in David Johnson, they also have the better defense, not only would they be able to run the ball a lot more efficiently, they'd also make it a lot tougher for Carlos Hyde to run on them. Blaine Gabbert was probably for once in his career the better starting quarterback going into the game, the sad thing being, he got outplayed by Drew Stanton. Blaine Gabbert got outplayed by a backup, if that doesn't scream get him off the field, I really don't what will. I'm not saying Stanton played good by any means because he didn't, Blaine Gabbert was just that atrocious. Gabbert averaged 5.2 yards per attempt, had two interception, and threw for a buck 62. That's not going to win you many, if any ball games. They did have an effective run game as they were able to rush for over 150 yards as a team. They put together three touchdown drives somehow, which if I'm a Cardinals fan, kinda concerns me. Cardinals also forced a safety and turnovers in general, that's how their defense plays so they'll let up some points, but they'll certainly take the ball away from you, and put their offense in a good position to score. Stanton only completed 11 passes on the night, two of those were touchdowns, Fitzgerald caught both of those, and Fitzgerald had more catches than the rest of the team combined with 6. Like I said when Palmer went down, this game was going to be a blessing in disguise, why you might ask, because David Johnson finally got a good amount of touches, and showed great things happen when he has the ball. He rushed for 157 yards, he had 2 TD's, and had 3 receptions for 28 yards. Cardinals didn't look perfect tonight, but they got their run game going, and they got a 33-21 victory on the road against a division rival. I'd say Bruce Arians is content with his team's performance tonight.
