Cam Newton Officially Ruled Out for Monday's Game

Derek Anderson will be the starting quarterback for the Panthers Monday night against the Buccaneers. Luckily for the Panthers they're playing the Buccaneers, against almost any other team I'd say the Panthers have no shot, but even with Derek Anderson I'd still say the Panthers are the favorite to win this game. I thought the Bucs were going to surprise a lot of people this year, with injuries to Doug Martin and a lot of their better defensive players like Gerald McCoy, the season has taken a turn for the worst. The Buccaneers will once again be a below .500 team, although I still think they can make something out of this season, they won't make the playoffs, but they can still set themselves up for next year by showing they can win big games this year. Jameis Winston picking up a win over Carolina on Monday would be huge step in the right direction. The Bucs have a shit load of injuries themselves, but they need to take advantage of a Cam-less Panthers team, the Panthers defense is still the real deal so Winston will certainly have his work cut out for him. If the Panthers manage to lose this game I still wouldn't say their season is over, although starting the season 1-4 doesn't give you a good chance historically speaking. Panthers are in a very weak division though, maybe the weakest in all of football, so they can afford to lose games because they could probably win this division at 9-7. Everyone is flying high the Falcons, what's changed from last season with that team, nothing, they'll burn out, and end up going 8-8. The Saints and the Buccaneers aren't going to even be able to get back to .500 at any point this season, so the Panthers realistically only need to win 9 maybe 10 games to get back to the postseason. Cam will be back next week, or at least he should be, and the panthers will get back to their winning ways. We definitley know the Panthers aren't the same team they were last year, doesn't mean that they aren't still playoff worthy because they most certainly are. Cam needs to get down or get out of bounds because he can't be playing with this reckless attitude, hopefully the Falcons linebacker that concussed him knocked some sense into him. No one wants to see Derek Anderson on the field, I bet Derek Anderson doesn't even want to see himself on the field. Cam do yourself a favor, avoid getting hit like Russell Wilson does so well, you can be as big and as strong as you want, but if he continues to get hit like he has been this season, Cam isn't going to have a very long career.
