By DjackBroncos announced earlier today that Trevor Siemian is not ready to come back from a shoulder injury that he sustained in last Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. That means it's time for rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch to make his first NFL start. Last week Lynch played the majority of the game, he played quite well as he went 14/24 for 170 yards, and he threw his first career touchdown. It also came against a horrible Bucs defense so it's hard to tell if he'll be able to execute against a better team. The Falcons defense isn't that much better than the Bucs so it shouldn't be too much harder for him to perform, I actually think he'll do quite well. As for Trevor Siemian, he may have just fucked himself over by getting hurt, Siemian was going to be a one year guy for the Broncos so they could give Paxton Lynch some time to turn into a real NFL quarterback. Well, if Lynch comes out and continues to play like he did last week, but for an entire game, Siemian may not have a job anymore when he is finally healthy. Either way some stupid team like the Browns or something will overpay Siemian based on his first 3 games, and he'll get paid so I don't feel too bad for him. This could potentially be huge for the Broncos though, if Lynch can come in and be efficient, that could really that this team to the next level and make them a clear cut Super Bowl contender. Either way they won't be able to get past the Patriots, but this could be huge for the future of the franchise if Lynch can come in now learn from experience while winning the Broncos games, and he'll have the defense as his safety net like Siemian does. This whole situation could play out into a very interesting situation, before we vote Siemian off the island let's see what type of performance Paxton Lynch delivers Sunday.
