By UppyGod I hate Monday Night Football. Will I be saying that tomorrow? No. I will be enjoying some fine natural ice while praising The Ginger Prince and agreeing with Jon Gruden on how great he is. But right now, on Sunday, I hate when the Birds are on MNF.
With that being said, this game will be a huge test for the rook. National television under the lights and a big debut to back up. Going into Chicago to face Da Bears. This game's gonna be yugeee. "So Uppy, you're a smart, rational guy. What do you expect from Carson Wentz and the Eagles tomorrow night?" Oh what do I think, you ask? Well there's two different thoughts I have. One: Carson Wentz slings his ginger dong all over the windy city and throws for 300 and 4 TD. Eagles D is hungry for some bear meat and the Birds get the dub. Two: Maybe since Ryan Matthews has remarkably made it through week one unharmed, he can be a workhouse and take pressure off of Wentz, who will get his second career win while throwing for a modest 240 and 2 TD. Maybe he'll nail a read option at the goal line and sneak one in. Birds get the dub. Final Score Eagles 35-10. Records: Wentz 2-0. EDP 2-0. America 1-0.

By DjackThe Patriots worst nightmare became a reality today. Jimmy Garoppolo left today's game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury, the extent of the injury is unknown, but he was unable to return to the game so it must be a pretty serious concern. Such a shame to see this happen, Pats fans were getting ready to trade Brady due to the amazing play from Garoppolo, but those aspirations were shattered quickly as Jimmy went down early in his second career start. He was 19/23 for 234 yards and 3 touchdowns in just one half of football, this kid is basically a young Brady, so this could be a huge blow to their success over the next two games before Brady comes back. Unless this new kid Jacoby Brissett becomes a stud as well, if that's the case the Patriots have officially created an organization that cannot be beaten. If Bill Belichick can make their third string quarterback great, at that point you realize the talent has nothing to do with it, he's just a genius. That's far fetched though, if Garoppolo doesn't come back the Pats will struggle for two weeks, but than they'll get the greatest quarterback of all time back. If your a Pats fan you have nothing to worry about, that shouldn't come as a surprise because Patriot fans haven't had to worry about anything in the last 16 years.
By DjackGronk who missed last week's game against the Cardinals with a lingering hamstring will also will miss the game this week. He was officially ruled out today and that's a big blow to the Patriots. I know they managed without him last week, but having him around to help ease the learning process for Jimmy Garappolo would be a huge advantage. Gronk always seems to miss part of the season due to one of his many injuries, as long as he can get healthy by time Brady is back, and can actually stay healthy that'll be a huge plus for the Patriots in the long run. The annoying thing about these hamstring injuries is that if you come back a day too early you can mess it up again, and be out for another six weeks. So you really have to be a bitch about it and wait until you know that sucker is 100%. I Expect for Martellus Bennett to get more looks today than last week. He was only targeted four times a week ago, and the Cardinals actually have good linebackers/Safeties that could cover him well, the Dolphins won't. Despite Gronk being unavailable today Jimmy and company should be fine, obviously you want your best player in the game, but if he has to get to 100% before he can play at least he's missing a game against the Dolphins, where his presence isn't needed as much. I also want to give a big Fuck You, to all the fantasy owners that take Gronk in the first round, this is what you deserve for being an asshole and drafting a Tight End in the first round that always gets hurt. Granted when you're a kicking my ass in week 10 because he caught 3 TD's for 150 yard, you can tell me to go fuck myself.
By DjackWhat a day to be a fan of a Big 10 team, why you might ask, oh yeah because every big game played by them yesterday was won. So whether you're a Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, Michigan State, or Ohio State fan you won in a big game yesterday. Oh yeah, and Iowa lost to a bum ass North Dakota State team showing just how average of a team they really are, making things for the rest of the Big 10 teams with actual talent a whole lot easier. Let's go over how Dominant the Big 10 was yesterday, and why the SEC needs to watch out because there's a new powerhouse in this country.
23 Oregon VS Nebraska: Oregon is the best PAC 12 team besides Washington, and they might be better than Washington too but for arguments sake let's just say they're the second best team in that conference. Well, Nebraska isn't even ranked and there's five teams who are ranked in the Big 10, and Nebraska isn't one of them. So our 6th best team, beat the PAC 12's second best team, that's pretty pathetic if you ask me. I don't want to say pathetic actually because I feel like that takes credit away from Nebraska and how good of a football team they are. It just goes to prove the depth of quality teams that can be found in the big 10 conference. Nebraska, a middle of the road team in our conference beat one of the PAC 12's best teams. 12 Michigan State VS 18 Notre Dame: Notre Dame is one hell of a football team even though their record doesn't prove it right now, they've had tough early opponents that have been able to beat them in close games. DeShone Kizer is the real deal, this kid has a big time arm, and can make plays with his feet. He can be a potential NFL quarterback one day for sure. An always outstanding Michigan State team came into South Bend and just simply out performed the Fighting Irish. Defensively they overpowered the Notre Dame offense, they allowed under 50 rushing yards which is just absurd to hear in a college football game. Michigan State was definitely the better of the two teams and they picked up another huge win for the Big 10 defeating a ranked opponent on the road. The final score was 36-28, but it wasn't that close, Notre Dame was down 36-7 late in the third before putting together a few scoring drives in garbage time. Michigan State dominated the game at all facets and picked up a big win while sending a message to CFB. 3 Ohio State VS 14 Oklahoma: Everyone doubted my Buckeyes, they're too young, they lost too many players, they lack experience, I laugh at all of you as Urban Myers continues to build an unstoppable force up north. We're the cream of the crop in this conference, we are at the head of the best conference in college football right now. Last night we set out to prove that we were the real deal, all week I heard how Oklahoma was going to bounce back against us to get their first big win of the season, J.T. Barret and company had different plans. Ohio State decided not only that they were going to beat OU, but that they were going to send a message to college football by embarrassing Oklahoma on National television. The Buckeyes offense gets better with every snap, and the defense clearly proved they can shut down an experienced offense led by one of the better quarterbacks in the nation. Ohio State showed a lot of people that they're the real deal last night, the scary part is those young players they have are only going to get better each and every week. Urban Myers is neck and neck with Nick Saban for best coach in CFB, but after this week they will be neck and neck for who is #1 team in the country. Is it time to deem the Big 10 as the new best conference in college football? I certainly think so after what I saw this week, they took out quality opponents on the road in many of the cases, and all walked away with W's, except for Iowa, but we all wanted them to get exposed for the trash team they are so it worked out. All I'm saying is that, it's time to rethink that the SEC is the clear cut #1 conference in the nation, the coaches and players at these Big 10 schools are starting to look a little more elite. By Djack1 Alabama VS 19 Ole Miss:
I think everyone knew this was going to a well played game from both sides after seeing their previous two meetings. Ole Miss has had Alabama's number for the past few seasons with Chad Kelly at quarterback. They've managed to beat Alabama each of the last two year's with him under center and they were looking to make it three. They were off to a good start for accomplishing that goal, at one point Ole Miss was up 24-3, at that point everyone was getting ready for down goes Alabama once again. The Crimson Tide did not give up though, well when does a Saban coach team ever give up, they stormed back and tied the game up 24-24 by the beginning of the third quarter, just like that the Ole Miss lead had vanished, and Alabama had all momentum. Ole Miss would never regain the lead and they ended up losing 48-43, but the game wasn't even as close as the score was. After Bama tied it up they had the game in the bag, they figured it all out, and were clicking on all cylinders. Alabama has a special player in Jalen Hurts, his passing ability is not great but is good enough to get by in college, his running ability makes an already unstoppable running game for Alabama just that much harder to prepare for. Chad Kelly is a gunslinger that gives Alabama's defense all kinds of headaches, his ability to push the ball down the field unveils Alabama's weakness every time. The Alabama corners aren't great, they get protected by the rest of the defense, and the fact that not many college QB's can push the ball down the sidelines like Chad Kelly. For all the good that Kelly did in his effort of trying to make it three straight VS Albama. he put the dagger in his team today in the fourth quarter on a pick six. His poor decision making ultimately ruined his team's chances for coming back to win that game. Although Ole Miss did everything in their power to win this game, Alabama was just the better team this time around, and they stayed composed when it mattered most. By MukThe Louisville Cardinals and Lamar Jackson roll to a huge win over the number 2 ranked Florida State Seminoles, as they put up 63 points, posting their third straight game over 60+ points. Unreal. This offense is one of the hottest in the entire country, and Jackson is largely the reason for that. He has 18(!!!!) total Touchdowns through 3 games, throwing for 8 and rushing for 10, with over 1,300 total yards. He is electrifying and fun to watch, and has put Louisville right into contender conversation, as they were ranked #10 coming into today, and just beat the #2 team, the sky is the limit for them. Lamar is solidifying himself as a heisman front runner, with three straight weeks of pure dominance. We saw Michael Vick tweet today that Lamar is 5x better than he was at V-Tech, and that is saying something. This season is young and if we know anything in college football, the season is long and things change in a heartbeat, but if Lamar can keep this up, and the Cardinals can follow his lead, they could emerge as a top team come playoff time. Lamar is responsible for possibly my favorite run ever, the first clip in this video; the kid is a walking highlight. 9/17/2016 North Dakota State Upsets Iowa Louisville Sends Statement with Win Over Florida State Clemson Get's Their Mojo BackRead NowBy DjackA lot of good college football will be played today, the early games kicked it off in fine fashion. We had a huge upset, a blowout between two top 10 teams, and Clemson showed that they have returned to last season's form. With an abundance of quality games still left to be played on today's schedule, this was just the beginning of a great college football Saturday. Let's rewind and take a look at the three best games so far today...
North Dakota State VS 13 Iowa: Iowa was an easy pick for many to reach the college football playoff, not because of the skill their team posses, but rather that they have one of the easiest schedules of any team in the country. Their toughest games on the season which come against Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nebraska will all be on their home turf, so they had every advantage possible scheduling wise to land them back in the CFB playoff. They played a Division 1A team in North Dakota State, a team that should've been no problem, just another easy win on the schedule. Boy did they have their hands full today, ND State exposed Iowa for the B- team they are, they also did the voters a justice by taking Iowa out of the playoff conversation now, even if they were to win out which they won't, but if they were to do so I still don't think it'd be enough to mask this horrible loss. North Dakota state went for 2pt conversion to take lead late in the 4th quarter and failed. At that point it seemed like all odds of the improbable comeback were over, but Iowa couldn't finish the game on offense by running out the clock, and gave North Dakota another chance to drive down the field and score. That's exactly what they did, it was also with no resistance whatsoever, if a division 1A football team drives down the field easily on your power conference team, you're just not that good. Sorry Iowa you got exposed today and that's why you lost in the final seconds on a field goal to an irrelevant team. South Carolina State VS 5 Clemson: The Clemson Tigers redeemed themselves today after a very unimpressive showing their first two times out this season. They dismantled a South Carolina team that clearly lacked talent at a lot of important positions. Clemson did what they had to do, they wanted regain some respect after almost losing to Troy last week, so their only option was sending a message to the college football world today. They embarrassed a conference opponent in a good ole fashion 59-0 beatdown. Deshaun Watson was incredibly efficient and proved his name will be right back in that heisman debate again this year after posting three touchdowns through the air, completing all but three passes, and passed for 150 yards before being pulled early since they were blowing out South Carolina. This Clemson defense looks like one of the best in the country, they shutout South Carolina, I don't care how bad the team is, holding a team to 0 points is an impressive feat. Clemson is back to being one of the teams to beat as they prove they're just as dominant as ever. 2 Florida State VS 10 Louisville: Lamar Jackson showed the entire country today that he is the new face of college football and that the Heisman trophy is his to lose. This kid puts the entire university on his back and has no problem carrying them, from the first snap of this game you could tell Louisville was going to whoop FSU's ass. Lamar Jackson is Mike Vick 2.0, he's the fastest quarterback I've seen since Vick, and his elusive moves to shake defenders are down right scary. This kid is truly one of the best athlete's I've ever seen play the quarterback position, they made the #2 defense in the country look like a Pop Warner squad. Every drive summary would end up looking like this, 6 plays, 70 yards, and a touchdown. Lamar Jackson has more TD's himself than any other ranked team has as a unit. Louisville proved today that they are a serious team, the defense shutdown FSU and made their Cam look alike QB look like someone who has never played the position before. I'm sure Jimbo Fisher wants to crawl into a corner and cry tonight after being embarrassed so badly, that's what's going to happen when you give Bobby Petrino a bunch of talent, he's a great coach he's going to get the most out of his players. This game was all Louisville for 60 minutes as they destroyed the #2 team in the country 63-20, how embarrassing for FSU. By BobIt does not look like Jamaal Charles is ready to go just yet. After tearing his ACL this past October, it has been a long process of trying to get the Pro Bowl running back back on the field with the Kansas City Chiefs. He started the preseason on the PUP list and has since been taken off, but it still may be a few more weeks until he see the man actually play a snap of football. The self proclaimed "Lebron of football" is in great spirits, but who really knows if he will be anywhere close to the the level of talent we have seen in past seasons. ACL injuries are always extremely hard to come back from, especially for running backs who are constantly getting pummeled by 250+ pound behemoths. Only the best of the best can come back and play elite (just ask AP), but most becomes shells of their former selves and end up in an abyss of being irrelevant in the league. Cheifs head coach Andy Reid stated regarding his prized running back saying "When he's ready to go, he'll be a pretty player." Charles is supposedly in high spirits, so hopefully he will be able to use his positive attitude as an influence to take the league by storm when he gets back. He always seems to be in the shadow of other stud backs, so it would be a great feel good story for him to shred up defenses as soon as he gets back to business. Fantasy owners are biting their nails waiting for this guy to comeback and will be quite upset if they wasted an early round draft pick on a guy who will take a backseat role. Spencer Ware is something else and has a very good chance of taking his mentors job. During week one against the Chargers, he put up 70 yards on 11 carries to go along with one touchdown and seven receptions for 130 yards. Those are some pretty eye opening numbers, so if Charles wants his job back he is going to out perform a young and hungry back trying to make his mark on the league.
By DjackWelp, that's got to suck, not even a month into the season and you get fired. Bills might as well had cleaned house and fired the Ryan brothers while they were at it, that would've been the real solution to their problems. Greg Roman, the guy who got fired, was the highest paid offensive coordinator in the league!!! Ask me how they came to the decision to make him the highest paid coordinator, I really couldn't tell you, but from what he showed in those two games he didn't even deserve the job let alone being the highest paid OC in the league. The only reason he looked good as the 49ers OC was because Jimmy Harbaugh was there, making it look like he was doing a good job, meanwhile it was all because of Harbaugh. Bills should've cleaned house completely, move on from the Ryan brothers, Rex isn't a good head coach, and he sure doesn't have a head coach mentality. Rob is just a useless fat mess, Bill have a lot of problems, but using Greg Roman as their scapegoat to cover them up will only work so long.
By DjackAn AFC East battle of the lesser New York teams played last night. It was quite the shootout and made for very entertaining television, but it wasn't necessarily great football. The Jets played very well, the offense picked apart the Bills defense, and they were able to score at will. The Bills managed to stay in the game by having some breaks go their way, they had the big play element on their side so they were able to score fast. The Jets defense looked good despite the scoreboard saying they let up 31 points. The Bills on the other hand looked awful, the defense was incapable of making stops, the blitz wasn't there, and their red zone defense was embarrassing. Rob Ryan is clearly an awful defensive coordinator that doesn't deserve a job in the NFL, he had the worst ranked defense with the Saints last year, and his defense has looked lost the last two weeks. The Bills need to get rid of the Ryan brothers ASAP, these guys are just a walking joke, if you think two goofballs can lead a team to a championship, I feel bad for you. A few footnotes on the game, Darrell Revis got cooked for an 84 yard touchdown, now everyone is saying he's done, even though it was the fastest guy in the league. Marquise Goodwin runs a 4.26 40, so what if he burned Revis on a fly route, shit happens Revis is getting older, but if you think he's done you're out of your mind. I know he's had a couple of rough games to start the season, but he is dealing with a wrist injury, and last time I checked when Revis is in press coverage he's most effective, and with the wrist injury that's difficult for him to do. Fitzpatrick played a great game last night, he threw for over 300 yards, and was ridiculously efficient. Matt Forte was a fantasy team owners dream last night, he had 30 carries, 100 yards, and three touchdowns. The Jets won the game 37-31, and bounced back nicely from a tough loss in the hardest game they could've played, short week, on the road against a division rival. I'll tip my cap to little brother this week, well done.
