By DjackThe Cardinals problems just got a whole lot worse, not just because they lost to the LA Rams, they also lost Carson Palmer. Palmer left the game in the fourth quarter with what looked like a concussion, with the new NFL protocol for concussions who knows when he will be allowed to come back. He's going to have to pass like 100 tests that even people without concussions can't pass so it could be awhile until we see Palmer return. Drew Stanton came in and I think every Cardinals fan can say they'd rather not ever see Stanton on the field again. The Cardinals problems extend way beyond Palmer getting hurt today though, it's not like they were winning before Palmer got hurt, and they haven't been playing good with Palmer for the last 3 games anyways. They have a game on Thursday night so I don't think Palmer will be cleared by then, so they might get screwed over by the short week. Regardless of how mediocre Palmer has been thus far, if they have to start Stanton on Thursday night, you might as well put the L on the schedule already. The defense for Arizona hasn't been the problem, they've been holding teams to under 20 points and they still can't win. They're offense lives and dies by the home run ball, yeah I know this is football that we're talking about, but the Cardinals only can score when they have a big play. That isn't going to work in the NFL, the offensive has to be efficient and methodical. People also tend to forget that Carson Palmer was playing at a MVP level last season, he had never put up numbers like those in his career, and you expect him to repeat that at the age of 37, that's ridiculous. Let's give some props to the Rams defense though, the offense hasn't been able to score many points for them whatsoever yet they've won 3 games this season. It's not like these wins are coming against bad teams either, they've beat the Seahawks, Bucs, and Cardinals so this Rams team led by their defense is actually sitting atop the NFC West right now. The Cardinals fall to 1-3 on the season after today's 17-13 loss, this is going to put them in an uphill battle for a little while because they can't afford to loss many more games in a division with the Seahawks. Arians is going to rip this team a new one in practice this week and they'll be able to regain their footing in an easy game against the 49ers. If they lose to the 49ers then it's time to panic if you're the Cardinals because that'll just be humiliating.
