By BobBefore tonights snooze of a football game started, the Packers camp got some discouraging news that running back Eddie Lacy will require surgery on his ankle. Lacy suffered this injury last Sunday against the Cowboys and what was once thought as just a badly sprained ankle is apparently much worse. He has already been placed on injured reserve by the Pack, and even if he were to return this season it would be around week 15 right when playoffs are around the corner. This is a big blow for a team who has been dealing with their fair share of injuries. With both Lacy and Starks down at the moment, the front office made a trade with Kansas City for Knile Davis to make a majority of carries in the meantime. If i was a cheesehead, i would be quite worried about how this season is unfolding. Not only is Rodgers not playing up to his elite self, but the entire team just has been playing a level lower then their actual potential and it is clearly showing. When you can barely keep a lead on a horrendous Bears team who has Matt Barkley playing quarterback you know alarms should be going off in the front office. Although he has not been playing spectacular, Lacy is still a big loss to a pretty stagnant offense. As this game goes to half we will see if the Packers can shift gears and finally play the way they are supposed to. For the fans sake, I really hope this game gets more exciting or else most people will turn on playoff baseball.
