By UppySam Bradford, A.K.A Sammy Sleeves, and the undefeated Vikings came into Philly to play the 3-2 Eagles and fell on the short end of a super weird football game. The game started with 5 turnovers between the two teams with Wentz and Bradford both throwing picks followed by a couple of fumbles by both teams. They ended the first half with a score of 11-3, the first time that's ever happened in NFL history.
It was ugly, it was strange, but the Eagles came out on top so god damn was it glorious. Big V held up at right tackle after a shaky start and overall the offensive line held their own against one of the best defenses in the league. To the surprise of no one, Ryan Matthews fumbled at the end of the game, you know, just because he's consistent. Wentz seemed a little erratic at times, making a few bad throws on big plays and just dropping the football in the backfield a few times. He messed up a handoff to Sproles and then dropped three snaps. Some of them looked like poor snaps but one looked like he just wasn't looking. Luckily, the Ginger Prince has a good noggin on his shoulders and had the presence of mind to run for first a first down on 4th & 2, and then was able to scoop the ball and throw it to Sproles for a gain on the second drop. Dorial Green-Beckham showed us he is actually on the roster when he grabbed his first TD of the year on a big goal line play. I'm really hoping we can get this man going because he is an absolute freak. Young Calvin? Let's mold him into Optimus Prime so he can battle Megatron (IDK if those are correct Transformer references). The defense was stellar today. They abused the depleted Minnesota line and racked up 20 hits on Bradford. I can't believe that man didn't break or tear something today, although he did force Mike Zimmer to call a timeout late in the fourth quarter when he got up limping after a sack, because he, like Ryan Matthews, loves consistency. Wish they could've held up at the end of the game and not allow that late touchdown because I started them in fantasy and needed the points. But allowing 10 points will usually result in a win so thank you Malcolm Jenkins and co. Special teams came to play as Josh Huff scored the first TD of the game on a kick return where the blocks parted the kicking team like the Red Sea (shout out my fantasy team). So there was the rough start and a few Wentz mistakes, but a win is a win and the Eagles sit at 2nd place in the NFC East at 4-2. Go Birds.
