By CV newstalk.1290 The Cowboy's defense is a huge question mark this year but not the biggest concern for the team. That honor goes to the health of Tony Romo. When healthy, I think he's easily a top 10 quarterback in the league but his back is as strong as cardboard. He's had numerous surgeries on both his back and collarbone and he's also not getting any younger at 36 years old. Already in game 3 of the preseason all of cowboys nation held their breath after a 3rd and 7 scramble ended with Romo laying on the floor hurt. He was taken out of the game with what was described as a stinger but it was still scary to watch given Romo's injury history. The hits are going to get harder and more frequent as the regular season rolls along and theres never a play where you're not freaking out ,especially when theres a blitzs coming or Romo is scrabbling around. Theres a very good chance that at some point during the season, the Cowboys will have to rely on rookie quarterback Dak Prescott who has been lightning it up this preseason going 39-50 for 454 yards and 7 total touchdowns. He can't be this good and would likely come back down to earth a little bit. But from what I've seen, I would be very confident with Prescott as the quarterback if Romo were to go down. wfaa.com
