By DjackWent 2-0 on Wednesday, the 3rd game I picked ended getting rained out. I'm now 20-18 on the season, feels good to be above .500 for what feels like the first time in forever. Tonight I expect to continue my hot streak I'm now 9-2 in my last 11 picks, not too shabby. Let's get this shit started. Bet #1 Astros have been the hottest team in baseball, they look like they can't lose, who better to bring them down for the first time in over a week than the defending AL Champion Indians, right? Wrong, tonight is not the night the Astros go down, with Charlie Morton on the mound taking on the struggling Trevor Bauer I like the Astros chances tonight. Astros are the favorite of course, beating the Indians by more than 1 run won't be easy, but with Vegas giving me the +150 incentive I gotta take it. Probably a trap, although why set a trap in game that the hottest team in baseball is in. Throw heavy on the Astros tonight. Bet #2 Yankees by maybe 10 runs tonight, so take them, put the house on them, and rejoice tomorrow morning when your bank account is fat as fuck. Severino is pitching, he's solid and shouldn't bury us early basically guranteeing the Yankees a win. Yankees bats should destroy whatever sad sack Rays pitcher that is taking the mound not named Chris Archer. Yankees are +135 with the most favorable of matchups, so you already know the pay check is going on this game because we need stacks to blow on the Preakness tomorrow. Yankees by a million. Bet #3
Mets need to get back on the right track, best way to do so is by ending their miserable losing streak. Jacob deGrom is pitching for the Mets, giving them their best shot to win. Angels are without Pujols as well making it that much easier for deGrom. Angels send Ricky Nolasco to the mound, if the Mets can't produce enough runs off him to get deGrom a win then the Mets might actually be in a lot more trouble than I thought. The beginning of the Mets turnaround starts tonight with a nice win over the Angels. Take the Mets as the 1.5 run favorite at +135.

By DjackDaily picks are back after quite a long layoff. I went 7-2 last week, that's what I'm talking about, hopefully I can keep that going this week. I've fought long and hard to get my record back to .500 after a bad start to season. Now, I'm back even, and looking to go and stay positive the rest of the season. Not an easy task to say the least, but the baseball season is a grind, and I'm always ready to grind. Let's get back to it. Bet #1 Red Sox-Cardinals tonight should be a helluva battle, they gave us a good game last night, however tonight's matchup should be even better. Rick Porcello, the reigning AL Cy Young award winner, takes the mound against Mike Leake for the Cardinals. Leake has been a far better pitcher than Porcello this season, I think it's safe to say Porcello is quite a bit overrated. I don't know if Mike Leake can keep this up, but he has for 6 weeks now, so why not. Cardinals are the underdog with the better starting pitcher, so I'll be taking the Cardinals. At -120 it's not a big risk whatsoever and I'm confident they'll even up the series with the Sox tonight. Bet #2 Rockies are the move tonight against the Twins. Ervin Santana had been unreal for the Twins this season up until his last start. I expect him to comeback down to earth after his unreal start to the season, especially against the Rockies lineup, no pitcher is safe against them. German Marquez is pitching for Colorado, he's coming off his best start, and I expect him to build off that. Rockies are the underdog at -180 it's not a huge payout, but a sure fire win is a sure fire win, right? Bet #3
Milwaukee over San Diego is a no brainer tonight. The Brew crew has been extremely hot, the bats are killing it, and with Matt Garza pitching I like them a lot. Oh yeah, they're also the underdog, I'll take any team as the underdog against the sad sack Padres. At -190 the return isn't great, but that just shows you how confident Vegas is that Milwaukee will cover. By DjackI overlooked a few huge facts yesterday that led to my 1-2 performance. First, I picked the Red Sox, as a Yankee fan that's just a bad omen, therefore it'll never work in my favor. Also, the Red Sox are a lot more trash than I thought, at least that was nice bonus when I was losing my bet big time yesterday. The Rangers I made a huge mistake betting on because I forgot they always play close games and have the closest run differential the last couple years. Should've never picked them as a favorite, no matter who they're playing. Lazy on my part, I apologize. My record is now at a pretty bad 15-18, nothing a 3-0 night can't change. Let's get to work: Bet #1 The Pirates travel to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks in a 4 game set. The series opens up with a great pitchers duel between Gerrit Cole and Zack Greinke. Cole was one of the best pitchers in the NL in 2015, last year he regressed, though, due to injuries and what not, so he's been looking to bounce back this season. So far he's done quite well, tonight I think he'll have a pretty dominant performance against what has been a pretty lethal DBacks lineup. Greinke since coming to Arizona hasn't been ace material at all really, therefore even with how depleted the Pirates roster is they'll still be able to put up runs on him. Pirates are the underdog and I believe this one will be close, so I'm taking them. Hopefully we get a tight game, where both pitchers bring their best stuff, and it'll finish within one run either way. Always take the dog in these types of games. Bet #2 No Mike Trout for the Angels tonight and the Tigers have Michael Fulmer pitching... I'll let you guess who I'm taking in this game. Obviously, the Tigers are the wave tonight. Fulmer is on the mound and he has continued to carry over his fantastic performance from last year over to this year. The Angels offense without Trout just isn't anything to be afraid of, so he should have no problem mowing them down tonight. Tigers lineup is pretty beat up as well, that's why I think this will be a relatively close game. Tigers are the underdog with the better starting pitcher, I'll be taking them with an extreme amount of confidence in this pick. All Reds tonight, baby. Bronson Arroyo takes the mound for the Reds, he's been quite awful, although I can see him putting together a solid performance today against this stale Giants lineup. Reds can hit and once they get a lead beyond the 5th inning, their bullpen shuts it down since they're one of the best in the league. Reds are the better team by a mile and they are the underdog tonight, so I'll gladly take them, even though Bronson Arroyo probably should've retired a good 3 or 4 years ago. Giants starting pitcher also sucks, so maybe it'll be a bloodbath. Doubt it, Giants can't hit, so it'll just be the Reds raking. Reds will be the cherry on top for the 3-0 night that brings me back to .500. #BelieveInBronson
By DjackI guranteed 3-0 yesterday and I fucking delivered it. That's what I call being a man of your word, someone you can respect. Looked like I was about to fall right off the wagon, but I fought through the adversity, and hit one over the moon yesterday. 14-16 on the year now after that terrific showing from me, still under .500, although that'll change after today. I went 3-0 yesterday and hopefully I'll do the same today. Don't quite have the same confidence today, but I'm hot, so you never know. Bet #1 Cardinals have been real hot lately and the Marlins have been real cold. There's nothing in this game that tells me that trend doesn't continue today. Cardinals are +1.5 in the run line, definitely surprising based on how these teams have played lately. Cardinals also dominate the starting pitching matchup with Lance Lynn taking the bump for them against Tommy Koehler. Cardinals should win easy, fact that they're the underdog has me drooling over this pick. Bet #2 Rangers have Yu Darvish taking the mound against a Padres lineup that isn't good to begin with. Padres aren't going to score many runs if any off Darvish, so I'll be taking the Rangers tonight. They are the favorite and at +105 they aren't giving you much incentive to take them. I think this is just a really safe bet and that there's almost no chance the Rangers don't cover tonight. Why not take it if it's a free win, right. Bet #3
Red Sox are somehow the underdog against the Brewers today, you know what that means, take em, and take a lot of them. The starting pitching matchup favors the Brewers, but I don't know, I just can't see the Red Sox struggling this much against a mediocre at best team. As long as the Red Sox don't allow double digit runs again today, they should win this one. If they don't, then maybe it's time to reevaluate how good this Red Sox team really is because they haven't impressed me whatsoever this season. Still they're supposed to be a better team than the Brewers and they're the underdog, so I gotta take em based off that principle. By DjackCurrently falling off the wagon quickly, my record is down to 11-16 after an atrocious showing on my part Friday. I'm off the over/under for this week, moving back to the run lines, so let's get back to it, hopefully I can salvage my record this week. Bet #1 The Astros take on the Braves tonight at Sun Trust Stadium. Astros are the 1.5 run favorite and against Bartolo Colon at ballpark where the baseball flies the Astros are a lock to win. I'd be surprised if this one didn't get ugly quick, don't get me wrong I love Bart and he's been great for 20 years, but his time has come. Astros lineup is stacked, look for the bats to explode tonight. Might as well take the over while you're at it, it's set at 8.5 runs, and the Astros will score more than that by themselves probably. Easy money on this game as long as Charlie Morton doesn't have a complete meltdown for the Astros. Bet #2 Twins are somehow a 1.5 run underdog against the White Sox tonight, you'll regret it if you don't take them. Mike Pelfrey, one of the worst pitchers in the MLB is going to get rocked by the Twins. Even without Sano in the lineup tonight the Twins will manage to put up runs against such an atrocious pitcher. Hector Santiago takes the bump for the Twins, let me tell you this guy is sneaky good. He hasn't been healthy very often in his career, however when he is he's super effective. He's been to an all star game, clearly he's more than capable. Twins win outright tonight, not taking them with a 1.5 run cushion would be foolish. Bet #3
This man right here is the reason why you should take the Tigers tonight. Verlander got off to a rough start this season, however he found his stuff in his last start, and I expect him to carry it over to this start. D-Backs been going through a rough stretch, expect that to continue as well. The starting pitching for Arizona just isn't good, when they're outmatched like they are tonight it's going to be real tough for them. With Miggy back in the lineup for the Tigers they'll keep improving tonight as he continues to try and find his groove along with the rest of the lineup. Tigers win soundly in this one, so them as a 1.5 run underdog is a steal. That's 3 for 3 tonight, I've never been more confident in my picks. By DjackIt's Derby day, one of the great days of the year in America. The one day we can pretend to care about horse racing for the sake of day drinking and gambling, two of the activities this great country was found on. Well, Derby day has arrived once again and it's time to place those bets in hopes of turning an already great day into one of the best of your year. The weather isn't great today at Churchill Downs, but that should just make for a more exciting two minutes of action. That's the other thing I love about the Kentucky Derby, all the hype and build up for just two minutes of pure exhilaration. It's short lived, although it's one of the greatest rushes in all of sports. I'm getting antsy just thinking about it, let's pick some horses. Kentucky Derby Odds: Lookin at Lee 27-1 Thunder Snow 18-1 Fast and Accurate 38-1 Untrapped 63-1 Always Dreaming 4-1 State of Honor 55-1 Girvin 21-1 Hence 15-1 Irap 39-1 Gunnevera 9-1 Battle of Midway 37-1 Sonneteer 35-1 J Boys Echo 44-1 Classic Empire 7-1 McCracken 7-1 Tapwrit 27-1 Irish War Cry 5-1 Gormley 21-1 Practical Joke 30-1 Patch 15-1 Everyone is going to be talking about Patch today, the one eyed horse that they're going to make a movie after one day. You thought Secretariat and American Pharaoh are legends of the horse racing game, well Patch could put those boys in a grave if he pulls off the unthinkable winning the triple crown. He's not expected to win whatsoever, but horse racing could use a great story and this horse would instantly deliver the biggest one of the century. People are throwing money on him like crazy that's why his odds are at 15-1, meanwhile they opened at 40-1. Don't take Patch because of the hype, only take him if you believe the fix is in. If he wins the Derby he's winning the triple crown, though.
'Always Dreaming has the best odds at 4-1 followed by Irish War Cry at 5-1. McCracken and Classic Empire round out the only horses with single digit odds at 7-1. Not a huge fan of any of those horses, except McCracken, could see him finishing top three for sure. Always Dreaming should be the favorite and that's why he is because he's normally very good, but due to the weather the course conditions might suck, and I don't think he'll do as well as expected. Whatever you do, don't take Practical Joke, the horses name says it all. Battle of Middway, Fire Snow, and Fast and Accurate are my favorite sleeper picks. They all have ridiculous odds, so why not take a shot. Anyways, here's my top 4 finish for the 2017 Kentucky Derby 1. Battle of Midway 2. Irish War Cry 3.McCracken 4.Thunder Snow By DjackWednesday, I went 2-1 after switching to betting the over/under. That brings me to 11-13 on the season. Looking to stay on the winning end of things tonight heading into derby weekend, so we can bet on some horses tomorrow. Let's make money today that we can spend tomorrow. Bet #1 Astros went off on Wednesday scoring 10 runs only to follow it up the next day by allowing 10 runs. Dallas Keuchel takes the mound for them against the Angels, which means he'll be 6-0 after tonight with an improved ERA. He shouldn't allow many runs if any at all. Hopefully the Astros don't score too much against the Angels pitching staff because we'll be taking the Under in this game. The under is set at 8, lock that in and pray Astros bats don't get too hot tonight. Bet #2 The Red Sox bats need a coming out party and who better to have it against than the Twins and former Yankees starter Phil Hughes. Twins lineup has a lot of power, so they are always good for a few runs. Red Sox against Phil Hughes is always a good day to pick the over, and at 9 tonight, it's a steal. The Red Sox bats are due for a huge night, meaning the over will hit pretty early, so you won't have to sweat this one out. Red Sox-Twins over tonight is a no brainer. Bet #3
Blue Jays-Rays, the bottom of the barrel matchup of the night. The only thing that makes this game watchable is gambling and that's exactly why I picked it. The Rays bats this year have actually been doing very well. Guys like Beckham and Morrison have really stepped up. The Blue Jays even with injuries plaguing their lineup are still a team that can put big numbers up on the scoreboard. On the other hand, Chris Archer is pitching tonight, leaving the likely option of him shutting down the Blue Jays wide open. He hasn't been great this year, but I think Archer will be great tonight. Take the under with the line set at 7.5, this is going to be a low scoring affair, well, at least for one side. By DjackTrash performance on my part yesterday, I apologize. Never can feel good about 0-3 performance, those are the ones that really kill ya. Although, you gotta spend money to make money, right. When you fall off a bike as a kid what do your parents tell you... Get right back on that bike, same applys for sports gambling. I am going to switch things up a little bit today since picking the run lines hasn't been going to hot. Switching to over/unders today maybe I'll have more luck with that. 9-12 is my record now, hopefully I can get back to .500 after today. Bet #1 Blue Jays-Yankees has been an absolute slugfest in the first two games. Stroman is throwing for the Jays tonight, he's had a rough start to the year, but we all know he's capable of a great start at any moment. CC Sabathia had an awful outing his last start, although he's been mostly solid for the Yankees this year. With the line set at 8.5 I'm going to have to take the over based solely on the fact that these lineups are both hot right now. Even with the Yankees blowing out the Blue Jays last night , the Jays managed to tag up Tanaka pretty well. Smash the over in this AL East battle. Bet #2 The Cubs offense has been stagnant lately. Last night they broke out a little bit and seems like recently everyone has been hitting a little bit better. It has taken awhile but I think the Cubs are finally getting past their championship hangover and are finding their groove. Look for their bats to be hot tonight putting up big numbers which will be necessary since Arieta shouldn't let up many runs to a weak Phillies lineup. The over/under is set at 7, easily achievable if the Cubs lineup gets hot, and puts a couple of balls over the wall.Which we all know they are very capable of. Bet #3
Giants let me down big time last night, got off to a great start just to fall off the wagon and get blown out. With Jeff Samardzija throwing tonight the Dodgers are poised to score a shit ton of runs. Julio Urias, the young stud for the Dodgers, should have a good outing against a poor Giants lineup. The over/under is 7.5, take the over solely because Samardzija is pitching, and will let 5-6 runs on his own. By DjackTough loss yesterday in the Dodgers-Giants game ended my hot streak and brought me back to .500 on the year. I'm now 9-9, looking to crack double digits in the win column only tonight. Haven't gone 3-0 in awhile, miss that feeling, and I'm chasing it like a fiend. I'll be picking the three late games tonight all being played after 10pm. Trying out picking the night shift games since those are the games I've been watching more of this season. Hopefully tonight is the night I catch it. Here's tonight's picks: Bet #1 Angels have been one of the hottest teams in baseball over the last week. Small sample size, but still, they're second in the AL West right now, and I'm a believer in the halo's. Matt Shoemaker has looked better with each start he's made this season, so I'm a true believer this guy can be a solid pitcher for years to come. I know James Paxton, the big lefty for the Mariners, has had an outstanding season, but he's due for a bad outing. Look for the Angels lineup to stay hot and for the Mariners struggles to continue. With the Angels being a 1.5 run underdog I love them tonight. At -165 it's a stretch since they haven't proven to be consistent yet, although they haven't really been given the chance too. Really like the Angels tonight, so you should too. Bet #2 Alex Wood, shut down the Giants the first time he faced them this season. Now that they've seen him and the fact that it was so recently could make him less effective this time around. Matt Moore, also did extremely well the last time he pitched against the Dodgers earlier this season. I'm at a little bit of a crossroads with this pick, the Giants offense looked better last night, but without Crawford can they be trusted? Belt also isn't nearly as good against lefties either. The Dodgers couldn't seem to get much going last night, although they usually don't need to when Kershaw is pitching. Four out of the five games these teams have played this year have been decided by one run. Therefore, I'm going with the underdog, which is the Giants. Giants +1.5 at -150 is the movement for this rivalry matchup tonight. Bet #3
Colorado the 1.5 run favorite tonight over San Diego, at +150 we're pounding this all night long. Put the mortgage on it, put the kids, put the kidneys on it, it don't matter what you put on it cause it's a sure fire winner. Rockies just got shutout and for a team that hits the piss out of the ball I don't expect their lineup to remain quiet, especially when they're facing Trevor Cahill. Tyler Chatwood has been hit or miss when he takes the mound this season, against a shitty Padres lineup I expect him to be a hit tonight. Rockies are the no doubt pick of the week. By DjackAfter last week I believe I'm now 8-7 on the season. Positive record and I'm on hot streak as well, so hopefully I can keep on rolling today. I picked all 8 o'clock or later starts for my picks today, so don't feel panicked to get them in before 7. With that being said, here's today's picks: Bet #1 Take St.Louis -1.5 tonight over the Brewers, at +145 it's the steal of a lifetime. The Brewers are cooling down and the Cardinals are heating up, so this one is going to be a blowout. Mike Wacha had a great April and I don't see any reason that'll change. Zach Davies had an awful April and I don't see any reason for that to change. Cardinals by a million tonight, if you don't take them, it's like walking away from free money. Bet #2 Kansas City -1.5 against Chicago with Kansas City's best pitcher taking the mound is a no brainer. At +110 it shows just how sure Vegas is that Kansas City is gonna cover. Vargas has nearly half the Royals wins all by himself, shows just how bad the Royals been, but how good Vargas has been as well. White Sox have overachieved so far this season and the Royals have underachieved so far this season, look for that to change tonight. Bet #3
Clayton Kershaw is pitching tonight so you already know I'm taking the Dodger no matter what the odds are. Dodger are -1.5 at +106, meaning Vegas is not giving you much incentive to take them. Against Cueto tonight I don't expect many runs from either side, but the Dodgers lineup is far better than the Giants, so I expect them to win pretty soundly tonight actually. Take the Dodgers. I think I'm going 3-0 tonight, feel really good about these matchups. |
