By MukWe are 4 days away from the biggest fight of the summer and the biggest rematch in recent memory, as this Saturday August 20th at UFC 202 Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will square off once again, at 170 pounds, in a fight that will be nothing short of spectacular. Their first fight was incredible as the two men beat each other non stop with constant pressure and big shots, until Nate caught Conor with a left hand that left him dazed & confused, and caused Conor to shoot for a takedown which ultimately led to him being finished by rear-naked choke. What came after that tap out was nothing short of insanity, as social media, TV, and radio seemingly lost their minds from what they saw, either in excitement to see the loud, trash talking Irishman choked out, or by being shocked & crushed that their once untouchable superstar was defeated.
This is the fight of the summer and realistically we should have seen this fight already back at UFC 200, but we all know how the drama went down with Conor and missing his press conference, so now after months of waiting, the rematch has arrived. There is hardly any certainty in predicting results in the fight game, and that's why we love it, but a fight of this magnitude is even more impossible. These two men are warriors who come out swinging each and every night and will not go down with a single punch. While I cannot predict an outcome, I can predict a stand up battle, where whoever can hold on the longest, and not gas out from the heavy exchanges, will seemingly remain victorious. We know Conor has been working tirelessly on his ground game and preparing for an opponent of Nate's size and strength, but we can only hope that Conor stays on his feet because whether he likes it or not, he cannot touch Nate's BJJ ability. Whether you love or hate either of these guys, this fight will be everything it's been hyped up to be, and I simply cannot wait to see what happens. Will the #McGregorEra get back on the fast track to the top, or will 209 represent once again.
