By MukFight fans everywhere rejoiced as late last night the UFC reported that Daniel Cormier will defend his belt against Anthony "Rumble" Johnson at UFC 206, December 10th in Toronto.
I personally am very pumped for this fight, but it is also leaving me as a fight fan/idiotic Jon Jones fan torn, because I do want to see Jon face both of these men, as soon as possible, but it is unlikely that we will ever get to see all 3 superfights, of Jon vs. Rumble, Jon vs. Daniel, and Jon vs. Gustafson. There is no one to blame for all that than Jon himself, and if he didn't get himself into the UFC 200 issues that he did, he would've defeated Daniel then, DC at 205/206, and Gustafson in early 2017. But I am not here to complain about any of that, and this fight is absolutely one of the biggest in the upcoming months. DC defeated Rumble back in May of 2015 at UFC 187, to win the vacated UFC Light Heavyweight belt, but since then Rumble has been as hot as any fighter in the sport. He has won 3 straight since losing to Cormier, and his last two fights have lasted a combined 99 seconds. Rumble is the greatest knockout artist in the UFC, and the hardest hitting, and with a better camp, and gameplan, he will be a serious problem for Daniel. Now we have heard DC say on twitter that he wants to keep the fight stand-up and bang with Rumble, but let me tell you this right now - DC is a damn liar. He wants absolutely no part of a Rumble right hand, and will look to continue his success from the first fight between these two and dominate the ground and wear Rumble out, who is not known for his stamina, so it will be a challenge to see if Rumble can either put DC away, or survive in those championship rounds we know he is not too familiar with. This fight should be awesome regardless, and I really hope DC tries to stand and bang with Rumble, because if that's the case, while DC does have a great chin, I've got Rumble by early second round TKO.
