By, BobBesides for getting me pumped for the next few years of being a Yankee fan, this might have been the most depressing series loss of the season. They had been playing the best baseball i have seen them perform all year with the young guns finally getting minutes. Aaron Judge continued his hot start by getting the Yanks only RBI in Mondays game in a 1-0 victory. After winning the first game against a strong Jays team there was a small hope inside us overachieving fans that they could possibly make their way back into the division race with the "Baby Bombers" leading the way. Well unfortunately, that feeling did not last very long. They started off hot in Tuesdays night game and went up 6-0 with a home run from DiDi in the first and then 2 more dingers from the next superstar catcher of the MLB, Gary Sanchez. I could not believe what was happening until everything went to shit and then bullpen shit the bed. I watched the worst inning of Yankees baseball of my life in the eighth inning of the Yankee game. Between Adam Warren and Chasen Shreve, eight runs were let up and i could not believe what i was watching. It all started with a 12 pitch start for Warren who ended up just walking Josh Donaldson and then a monster home run by Encarnacion. By the time Warren had given up his second home run and Shreve was in the game i knew all possibly of winning was lost. The shitty bullpen sticks again making me miss Miller and Chapman in times like this. The Yanks then went on to lose this afternoon 7-4, but once again the second coming of Jorge Posada hit a solo shot to center field.
I may be upset we lost the series especially to Canadians because that makes it all that much embarrassing. To be honest though i should not be surprised, these Yanks havent played outstanding baseball at all this season and these demoralizing losses should be expected at this point. The rest of the AL East has been playing much better ball anyways. The Orioles, Red Sox and Jays have all been killing it and have helped make this season that much more frustrating as a Yankee fan. The Yanks record is still positive at 61-59, but all the other teams are just so stacked right now that it is hard to keep up. My prediction is that the Red Sox will end up beating out the birds with assistance from my MVP pick Mookie Betts. He has been playing spectacular baseball and it shows, he's had two multi home run games in the past week which usually only superstars can accomplish. Betts is only 23 years old, if i were a Sox fan i would be jizzing over the fact he will be around for awhile. The young players are the best part of Americans pastime by making it exciting like the early 2000's with there ability to smash the long ball. These future cornerstones are going to make baseball poppin again, and ignite the flame in classic rivalries which I could not be more excited for. |
