By DjackToday it was announced that Yasiel Puig, will make his first start since spending a month in the minors. He will play right field and bat fifth. I'm surprised that he's being given an opportunity so early since the Dodgers were talking about just trading him a few days ago. I guess they saw how hot he was in the minors and are hoping it will continue in the big leagues. If it does, watch out baseball, the Dodgers will be a very scary team, throw the 2013 version of Puig into their lineup right now and it makes them 5x better as a team. Adding another lethal bat into any lineup will be a huge upgrade, so Dodgers fans can only hope that's what happens. Will it happen though? No one can really predict that, I mean I don't think Puig all of the sudden will just figured it all out after a month in the minors. Pitchers will probably just throw breaking ball after breaking ball to him, he'll will chase them in the dirt, strike out a bunch, and realize he hasn't changed whatsoever. He has no one to blame but himself for that, the coaches, the players, they tried to help him, he's just so caught up in himself that his game hasn't developed at all since 2013. The scouts know how to get him out with no problem now, he hasn't adjusted, and he's no longer a player that should be starting in big league games. Maybe that month in the minors was a real career changing experience, I hope so for the Dodgers sake, but I really doubt that's what happened. Baseball is not a game you can get by off sheer physical ability and Puig is learning that the hard way.
