By DjackDecided not to write this immediately after the game last night so I didn't go on an ignorant rant about how I hate the Yankees, and how they can't be doing this to me. So I decided to wait until the morning to give my reaction on our worst loss of the season. The entire game the Yankees were ahead and I was as happy as could be, I was checking the Orioles score and they were losing so I was hyped we were about to pick up some serious ground in the division and wildcard. Oh how quickly the Yankees could change my optimistic mindset, the ninth inning came around, and we had a 5-2 lead with Betances coming in to slam the door on this game. I was confident to say the least, that was until Big Papi came up with two on base, and two outs. I don't think the Yankees have ever been able to get David Ortiz out in a situation like this before, pretty fucking amazing how badly he owns us, well he didn't crush a game tying homer like I thought he would, but he hit an RBI single. That brought up the future AL MVP Mookie Betts, he also got an RBI single to make the game 5-4. So Hanley Ramirez comes to the plate, at this point I'm just thinking c'mon Betances, just one out and it's over, forget about what just happened and get this batter. Hanley Ramirez had different plans, he sat on a fastball put it over the fence, and hit a walkoff 3 run homer to put a dagger in the Yanks season. Do I think our season is dead? No, but if we don't come out tonight with some fire and win the next three games in Boston, we're dead. It would suck to come all this way to come up short, so lets hope these Baby Bombers got a few more tricks up their sleeves, we could really use some magic right about now.
