By MukTheo Epstein getting a 5-year, just under $50 million dollar extension? I'll take 'That's Obvious' for 500 points please.
Theo is one of the best minds in baseball, helping the Red Sox win their first World Series in 86 years, and now helping the Cub's to their first 100-win season since 1935. He has done a tremendous job in Chicago, helping grow a strong young team and acquire key pieces to put together a World Series contender team. They love him in Chi-Town, and the whole team, fan base, and organization trust him. This contract extension is just about the most obvious move that has been made all season in the MLB. The Cub's are looking for their first World Series in 107 years and this year is as good of a bet as they'll ever have. This team will likely be able to keep it's core players together for some time, because these boys love to play with each other and love to play for this organization, and a big part of that is due to Theo. |
