By DjackTalk about a roller coaster ride of a season, after everyone thinking they were done, the Mets have been able to hang around, and are now just one game out of the wild card. They took 2 of 3 from a Nationals team that has owned them all season, the best part, both the games they won were with rookies pitchers. Gsellman aka prison deGrom and Seth Lugo have been great for the Mets since being called up. Sort of reminds me of last years young pitching call ups that helped the Mets go on a great postseason run. Jay Bruce, the guy who was supposed to give the Mets a spark like Cespedes did at last years deadline, has finally started coming around after a month of horrendous struggles. He is now 9 for his last 19, so he's getting hot at the perfect time. Granderson has also been killing it lately, he's been racking up the RBI's this week and also hit 3 home runs. The Mets have been decimated by injuries this season, yet somehow have found away to stick around, if they can stay healthy for the rest of the way they could be a very scary team come October. Their schedule the rest of the way is the easiest in baseball, so that will definitely play to their advantage as they look to get that final wildcard spot. This lineup is the best it's been in the two years with Reyes returning to his former Mets self, Cabera reviving his career, Cespedes being the horse that he is, and now Bruce getting hot, seems like the perfect storm is brewing in Queens.
