Giancarlo Stanton is causing the Marlins front office to bleed.

Last night was the 2016 Home run Derby in San Diego and boy was it one for the ages. Now i'm not gonna sit here and say how the new format is cool and definitely helps the pace of the derby and say, well done major league baseball you finally got it right. But i will say thank you, thank you to whoever made the Russian steroids Giancarlo Stanton took before last nights derby because hooooly shit he was pissing all over that ball. This man flat out stole the show and made every other contestant look like a little leaguer. If you are a Marlins fan you have to be very excited for Giancarlo's second half performance because he's on a mission; also take into account how well the Marlins have done so far without Stanton performing at his usual level. The Marlins will definitely be playing in that wildcard game come October. Now we head over to the real losers of the night, no its not Todd Frazier or Wil Myers but it's the Miami Marlins. The Marlins front office thought it'd be a great marketing idea to give back to fans during the derby. How did they do this? By promising every fan a percentage point off the ticket price for a future home game every time Stanton hits a dinger. Well they didn't take into account that steroid Stanton is a monster and he ended up with a record shattering 61 total homers in the derby. Now the Marlins front office has to give tickets 61% off for a future game this season and they still wont be able to fill half their seats. Classic Marlins move overpaying a guy an outrageous amount and the one time he decides to show up and perform it comes back to bite them in the ass. The Marlins want Mike Stanton back because Giancarlo has been nothing but financial headaches for this club.
