By MukEarlier this week, Alex Rodriguez announced his ensuing retirement after this Friday's game, and Joe Girardi stated that he was going to allow Alex to chose how much he played over this last week. But now we have got a very sticky situation as Joe has sat ARod all week, saying that he has to "play the best lineup to win", acting like the Yankees are in a dog fight for a playoff spot. They're not going to make the playoffs, unless they turn a lot of things around, so why not just give ARod one week to show what he has in the tank left and say goodbye to all those fans who love and hate him. I think Joe is being a little bit ridiculous and is on his high horse about what his job is, and he is certainly looking foolish as Red Sox fans night after night are chanting for Alex. And with the rumors of heavy rain Friday for ARods final game, my heart is heavy for Alex as he may never get the right send off, and love him or hate him, he is one of the greatest athletes to ever play professional sports and has done all he can to make amends for his mishaps. Play the man.
