After their appearance in ESPN's 30 for 30 Doc and Darryl, their stories have been fresh in my mind. It's unbelievable how promising these two players looked in the beginning and where their career's actually ended up because of alcohol and drug addiction.their addictions have also affected there lives long after their playing days were over. Last week, when Dwight failed to show up for for a speaking event that was schedule, Darryl told the daily news that he was worried for Dwight's life and that he was a complete "junkie addict". When I heard this all I could think was "you gotta be fucking kidding me". I was shocked at how bad Dwight's problems still were and that he needed to be found as soon as possible. Then it came out yesterday that Dwight is fine and is "hurt" but Darryl's comments about him. He also stated that he hasn't used cocaine in years and that he would be rethinking his friendship with Darryl. I find it pretty hard to believe that Darryl would just make shit up about his former teammate. He must've had reasons to be concerned even though the "junkie addict" comment wasn't really necessary. I think Dwight is just pissed that he's putting comments like that out to the media putting Dwight back in a bad light. Either way, there's no way to know who's lying and who's telling the truth. For me, it seems like Darryl is just a concerned friend and Dwight is thinking he's fine and doesn't need anymore help. As of right not, it looks like a friendship with these two is long gone.
