On Friday in Los Angeles, the whole city will finally get to exhale a sigh of relief. The best pitcher in the MLB is set to return to his team, not only securing their NL West division title hopes, but also making them a contender in the NL against the Cubs. Obviously one pitcher isn't going to match the star power the Cubs have, but Kershaw can certainly neutralize the lineup a few times in a seven game series. Dodgers fans have to be ecstatic, not just for the obvious reason that they got the best player in baseball back, Kershaw's energy in that rotation helps the rest of the team no question. For example, when Kershaw is pitching it takes so much pressure off the lineup to produce because they know Kershaw isn't going to let up many runs if any. Plus your best player is usually the team leader, Kershaw is the type of guy to lead by example, only way he can do that is by actually playing. The Dodgers have managed without him, but Kershaw returns at the perfect time for LA to secure the division title. He has 4 or 5 starts left before the end of the season, the more interesting question is can he still win the NL Cy Young? It's scary to know he's missed this much time and by the years end he will most definitely be in the conversation for the award, that should tell you how unreal this guy is. Dodgers fans, Clayton has died , Clayton has risen, Clayton will pitch again. Rejoice.
