by DjackFive games back in the NL East and tied with the Marlins for the second wildcard spot, this not where many people saw the Mets being at this point in the season. After a magical 2015 World Series run, many Mets fans thought this would be their year. Well, as the season keeps dragging along those dreams and aspirations of getting back to the World Series look dull. A lineup that lives and dies by the Homerun ball, a young starting pitching staff with tiring arms, and a bullpen made on one man, this team certainly has a lot of holes. If the Mets weren't to make major moves by deadline they'd be lucky to make the playoffs let alone finish what they started last year. So, for the Mets to make the playoffs and compete seriously with powerhouse teams in the NL like the Cubs,Giants, and Nationals they're going to need to add some solid pieces. Sandy Alderson needs to be calling Milwaukee everyday asking for Jonathan LuCroy. This guy has a very solid bat and defensively is way better than anything the Mets have had behind the plate since Carter. With Wheeler due to come back hopefully before the end of August that should help bolster the starting rotation. The Bullpen this year besides Familias dominance has been quite dreadful so adding as much depth as possible there is key to there postseason success. If the Mets can make a few small moves, add a bat, get wheeler healthy, and add some depth to their bullpen this team is poised for another magical run. They are called the Amazin Mets for a reason, so seeing back in the October classic won't surprise me.
