By DjackThe last piece to puzzle in this Lakers rebuilding process is a solidified superstars and Paul George is just that. Today, we discovered that Paul George will not be getting a super max contract offer from the Pacers since he didn't make the all NBA team. If you don't make the all NBA team I guess that makes you ineligible for the super max, which ultimately fucks over the Pacers in this scenario. Money was their last bit of leverage over the Lakers, and now that's gone. Since he won't have a $200 million deal incentivizing him to stay in Indiana the odds of him leaving just went up that much more. That's only the tip of the iceberg however, Paul George seems to be making it quite clear what his intent is come the offseason of 2018.
The Pacers may try to deal Paul George, this way they can get something in return, instead of allowing him to walk away leaving them with nothing after 2018. If I'm the Lakers I'm not offering the Pacers shit for him, keep all our young studs, and keep our future draft picks, just wait for him to hit the open market. If the Lakers can pull that off Magic Johnson is going to look like a genius in 2-3 years when we're stock piling more championships. Paul George went on the late night show with Jimmy Kimmel literally discussing the Lakers and LA more than talking about the Pacers. The fact he was openly talking about it and answering questions is a horrible sign for Pacers fans. It seems like all the puzzle pieces are falling perfectly ever since Magic Johnson took over as President of basketball operations for the Lakers. Guess that's just Magic working his Magic, though. Sorry that was corny, I'm done here. Lakers are landing Paul George a year from now, it was confirmed here first.
