By DjackRichard Sherman's time in Seattle is running out whether you want to accept it or not. His big contract and big mouth have run their course in Seattle and now they're looking to move on. Whether it's this summer or next Sherman will be leaving the nest to start his next chapter in the NFL. I'm sure the Seahawks would trade him this year at the right price come draft day, it'd free up a ton of cap space for them, and they'd probably get a decent return of picks for him. Not sure the value they'd get would match his production this year, but in the long haul it'd be worth it. That sounds nice and dandy, although here's a couple reasons why I don't see it happening this year.
The Seahawks aren't going to get an offer that blows them away for Sherman that they can take and feel comfortable with. That's the first thing. The second thing is the Seahawks defense needs him if they want to stay at this elite status to compete for a Super Bowl this year. Sherman is falling off slowly and come this time next year he'll be headed towards the Darrelle Revis route, however he's not done being a top 10 corner just yet. Also, with free agency basically being over in terms of top rated players still being available, having that extra money now wouldn't make much sense. Next off season if they cut Sherman it'll free up around $10 million in cap space, so why not just do that. Sherman was an easy target especially since he brings a lot of unecessary attention to the team with his controversial comments all the time. His feelings got hurt now since the rumors began gaining some traction, so now Sherman doesn't seem thrilled about this situation anymore. With the personality of Sherman shit can certainly hit the fan quick. If this gets out of control look for Sherman to be moved, other than that Sherman will probably be in Seattle one final year.
