By MukUFC 213 is scheduled to take place July 8th, during International Fight Week, and will be headlined by The Ultimate Fighter Finale, with Bantamweight Champ Cody Garbrandt defending his title against TJ Dillashaw, in what will be an explosive battle between two bitter rivals.
In recent days, the card has officially added huge fights, consisting of a fight that will be a fan favorite, in Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone vs. "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler, a fight that was supposed to happen last year, but Lawler pulled out because he wanted more time to recover from his brutal KO loss to Tyron Woodley. Additionally, the card has added two top heavyweight contenders, in a potential #1 contender fight, with Fabricio Werdum facing off against Alistair Overeem, the trilogy fight between these two Heavyweight monsters. Both fighters have won one of the two previous encounters, and both can place themselves back in the title contention with a win. The card has also added a lightweight fight that will feature two veterans who are primed for a comeback win, with Anthony Pettis moving back up to 155-pounds, facing off against Jim Miller. Both of these fighters are coming off losses, and it's going to be a true battle, because they both are always ready to stand and throw hands in the center of the Octagon. On top of these four awesome fights, the UFC is reportedly targeting a fight for the Women's Bantamweight Title, with Amanda Nunes putting her belt on the line against title challenger Valentina Shevchenko. Shevchenko has only one loss in the last seven years, and that just so happens to be a unanimous decision loss to none other than Amanda Nunes. This fight has all the makings to be a standup war, with both of these women being warriors that have a ton of power. This card is going to be awesome, and that's just based off the four official fights on the main card alone, let alone anything else that can be added. I am so excited for Cody Garbrandt to knockout TJ Dillashaw and put an end to the bickering and jawing between these two former teammates.
