By DjackThe first loss of the season is always the hardest, especially when it comes against a team you know you should've beaten. The Giants did many things well today, the problem being they neutralized those good things by turning the ball over and having way too many penalties. I don't even want to hear the words "Washington won that game", because that is just not true. The Giants beat themselves, it's that simple, and it's very embarrassing. The Odell-Norman match up lived up to the hype, it was a very even battle, Odell had 7 catches for 121 yards, but Norman did keep him quiet for a lot of the game. They shook hands at mid field after the game showing they now have new found respect for one another. Boy did I miss Rashad Jennings today, Vereen was doing a great job of carrying his workload until he fumbled the ball deep in Washington territory putting an end to a scoring drive. The run game still managed to rush for over 100 yards and two touchdowns so I guess I can't be too frustrated with their efforts. Eli threw two crucial interceptions, one coming in the red zone, the other coming on the last drive of the game. The thing that really killed the Giants today was penalties and big plays. They allowed several big plays to Jamison Crowder who we made look like an elite playmaker and we allowed a 50+ yard touchdown to Desean Jackson who is notorious for killing us so no surprise there. The Giants secondary was quite depleted in the second half since Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie left with injuries. The penalties were the worst part, 11 penalties for 128 yards, that's absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. Ben McAdoo needs to get this team more disciplined, we had 3 unnecessary roughness penalties today that all were in huge spots that potentially cost us points. The unnecessary roughness penalty on the blocked punt from #33 was pointless and cost us great field position, if I'm McAdoo I make an example out of that idiot and cut him on Monday. Today's loss will not sit well with me whatsoever since we should've put the Redskins away in the first half. The Giants offense looked better for the most part today, but we need to cut out the turnovers before they keep costing us games. The defense didn't look too good against a shitty QB like Kurt Cousins, we were missing two of our better corners for a majority of the game so I'll let that slide this week. The Giants lost a heart breaker today 29-27 in game that really should've been 38- 29 Giants. Oh well can't dwell on the past, time to regroup, refocus, and get ready to kick the Vikings ass next week.
