By DjackAnother Thursday night football game that is just a total shit storm. Two teams struggling mightily at different levels, the Bears just flat out stink, and the Packers are failing to meet fans expectations. The Bears season kept going down hill tonight as QB Brian Hoyer went down early in this game, he would leave with what was eventually ruled a broken arm. Don't see that very often, but it's the Bears so it doesn't come as as surprise with the misfortune they've had in the injury department this season. Hoyer had been great in his previous two starts, looking like he may have actually done a pretty good job running the offense for the rest of the season. That left the Bears with Matt Barkley, the former USC stud, to run the offense for the rest of the night and who knows how much longer since the Bears have literally no other options left at QB. Too bad Barkley's stud days are a thing of the past because he showed exactly why he's a third string quarterback tonight with the awful display he put on for us. The Packers had a major injury of their own with Eddie Lacy out, Rodgers didn't seem to mind as he got to throw the ball 50+ times. This game was just ugly in the first half, the kind of performance where your just like wow these are just two bad football teams. The Packers would eventually pull away in the second half, Rodgers still didn't look like his usual self, but the lack of a Bears defense allowed Rodgers to put up the kind of numbers we've come accustom to seeing from him. Packers didn't have much of a run game tonight due to the lack of a running back, their leading rusher was Ty Montgomery who is a wide receiver, he had 9 carries for 60 yards. Packers defense which has been the best part of the team all season, which is saying something because they aren't that special of a group, took advantage of a weak Bears offense tonight. They allowed just 189 yards of total offense, they also kept the Bears offense off the field only allowing them 20 minutes of possession, and they forced two turnovers. Bears were absolutely demolished tonight to say the least, but that doesn't let the Packers off the hook by any means. The Bears are the worst team in football, yes they're worse than the Browns now without Hoyer, so anything the Packers did tonight means absolutely nothing, and Aaron Rodgers wasn't even all that impressive anyways. A lot of skepticism will still surround the Packers and Aaron Rodgers after this game, with this lack of a run game things will not get any easier for the Packers, they now have a long week to prepare for the next game so that's a plus. Packers win 26 -10, heading into next weeks game with a bunch of question marks still surrounding this team, but mostly Aaron Rodgers.
