By DjackHow could they not fire Jeff Fisher, he's done nothing for this Rams team except consistently lose. Matter of fact, he's accomplished next to nothing in the NFL, and has somehow managed to hold a head coaching job for the last 20 years. He had some good teams in Tennessee that made him look good in his first few years in the league, but ever since coming up 1 yard short in the Super Bowl he's accomplished nothing. For some reason the Rams kept him around for 5 years, I have no idea why, they've been ranked last in every major offensive category since he's gotten here, obviously he's a defensive coach that hasn't been able to adapt to the new style of NFL offense. Fisher along with his mustache are stuck in the late 90's, the Rams did the right thing moving on from the coach who has managed to pick up the most losses in NFL history.
The only thing leaving people scratching their head is the fact they announced a two year extension just about a week ago. If he was on the fringe of being fired why give him a contract extension and pay him for sitting on his ass the next two years. Apparently the extension was given before the season, it was just announced last week which is very strange, obviously the Rams front office wasn't too happy about it getting out knowing that Fishers time was most likely up. I gotta give Fisher a tip of the cap though, 20 years as a head coach in the NFL without winning a Super Bowl is pretty darn impressive, I guess all it takes is being average to keep a job in small market franchises. As soon as he got to LA, he gets fired a few months later, welcome to the big time Jeff Fisher. Even in a distracted LA market your team was so bad that you couldn't maintain your job through the end of the season. Shows just how bad the Rams have been. As for who will be taking over as Rams head coach, it'll be John Fassell, son of Jim Fassell former Giants head coach in the late 90's early 2000's. He's obviously not going to be the top dog next year though, I'm going to go ahead and say Jon Gruden will be the next head coach of the LA Rams. Perfect job for him, a good defense, an offense with young talent that he can mold into something special with his offensive genius. That's essentially the same situation he walked into with the Bucs, look how that worked out, why not repeat that in LA. Y'all can call me a fortune teller when I totally nail this hiring. P.S. On the bright side Eric Dickerson will be attending LA Ram games again, that didn't last very long.
