By DjackLet me start off by saying no trade can be made until after March 9th, Jay Cutler would also need to pass a physical since he underwent shoulder surgery this year, but the Bears say he should be able to clear it by then. Now, if you're a Bears fans this news will have you quite excited because Jay Cutler has been a total train wreck recently and your franchise is finally ready to move on. The Bears trading him though, I can't see that happening. No team, I don't care how desperate they are, is going to give up anything above a 6th round pick for this bum. That's right I said it, Jay Cutler is a BUM. So much god given talent and just completely relies on that to perform in the NFL. Unfortunately, that's not how it works buddy, can't just show up on gameday and hope your ridiculous arm strength is going to win you games in the NFL, the prep work is what sets apart the great QB's from the average. Jay Cutler is average at best. Don't get me wrong, certainly some team will take a shot at him, why not if you're a team that needs a QB and don't have many other options, but that doesn't mean they're going to be willing to trade for him. Cutler has no guaranteed money left in his contract, so teams wouldn't have to worry about his pay grade if they were to make a trade. Fact of the matter is Jay Cutler just doesn't carry much value anymore.
If the Bears were to release Jay Cutler then I believe he'd bring in some more interest from teams around the league. Would he want to play for those teams, I doubt it since they probably wouldn't be the most ideal situation for him in terms of chances to win. Cutler has to be realistic, he hasn't been good in years, he hasn't stayed healthy, and he needs to prove himself before he can start making any demands about where he wants to play. Realistically, Cutler should be happy that any team wants him. Cutler may just end up retiring, you never know with a guy like him, if he thinks he's above a situation, he's got enough cash to call it quits and walk away from the game forever. First we'll have to see if they trade him, if they can't find trade partner look for him to get released and sign with another team, or just retire. If he is the starting QB for the Bears next season I will be absolutely shocked, and laugh at how pathetic the Chicago Bears franchise has become.
