For the first time this season the Broncos didn't make me look stupid, they've proved me wrong time and time again, but the last two games they have not looked good. The Broncos needed to get back to pounding the ball, they wouldn't, they would fail to run for over 100 yards for the fourth straight week as the running game is now becoming a big problem since they can't seem to get it going against the mediocre defenses of the league. The lack of a run game definitely has a correlation with these recent loses because it's putting more pressure on the QB to make more plays, and convert on longer downs, therefore making the job of a rookie quarterback that much harder. Trevor Siemian, the "franchise quarterback", proved to America last night why he won't ever be able to be a real franchise QB in this league. He average 4.6 yards per attempt last night, pretty disgusting, even for a dink and dunk quarterback. Chargers defense was flying to the ball making sure to keep everything in front of them because they knew Siemian wouldn't be able to throw it over the top on them. Chargers were sitting on the ball all night, as soon as it was thrown they'd run up, and either blast the receiver or go for the pass deflection. Either way they made Siemian's life a living hell, along with making the receivers fear for their lives. Chargers defense played a hell of a game forcing 2 turnovers, they were also finally able to not blow the game late in the fourth quarter which came as a surprise to all of us. Chargers offense beat down the Broncos defense since they were able to run the ball really effectively, this also allowed them to win the time of possession battle. Chargers held onto win 21-13, did Mike McCoy just save his job, probably, did Trevor Siemian finally show his true self, definitely. Good to see I wasn't completely delusional about the problems this Broncos team has.
