By DjackAfter Sunday's win against the Arizona Cardinals, Cam Newton, who took a cheap shot below the knee in the game, made comments about poor officiating not protecting him. Newton had every right to complain about the clear illegal hit placed on him by Calais Campbell in that game, but his choice of words, and his demeanor saying those words made Cam come off as a baby back bitch. Now, I usually don't like to take shots at football players for not being tough because I'd never have the balls to do what they do, but when you say things like "At times I don't even feel safe" you're going to face some heat. What player is ever safe in the game of football, the whole sport revolves around contact, and inflicting pain on your opponent. If you're not willing to get hit a lot, you shouldn't be playing, it's that simple. Nat Berhe, a safety for the New York Giants, will make his return to the field this week after missing the last 5 weeks with a brutal concussion. Was Berhe complaining about the violent nature of the NFL, no, he embraced it, saying things like "Nobody wants to live forever" and " I'm just out here man... It's fun to watch. If you're fun to watch, who knows, maybe they'll throw the bank at you one day." Berhe understands that it's football, you're going to get banged up, that's just how the game works, if you don't love it then why are you playing. Cam acts like he's the only mobile QB that gets hit, Big Ben, Brady, Rodgers, and Wilson are all hit with the same frequency, and have actually been hit more times illegally, but you never hear a peep from those guys about the way the officials call the game. At the end of the day, Cam is just a big baby that can't grasp the fact that he's not this untouchable super being that can't always get the ball to roll his way. Sorry Cam, the NFL has missed calls of illegal hits on every player, but has every player made even close to the amount you're making, no. Just shut up, collect your checks, and get out after 10-12 years if you're that scared of being hit. It's really that simple, either shut up and live with it, or get out of the league. By the way, every defense that plays Camfrom here on out will be going after him even harder now, it's the jungle out their, as soon as the enemy senses fear in their opponent, they strike. Cam says he's playing with fear, so look for those defenders to be extra hungry on these upcoming Sundays.
