By DjackFor most people the Jets season was dead a few weeks ago when they started the season 1-5, I like to give teams the benefit of the doubt and not rule them dead until they've reached the point of no return, and the Jets certainly reached that point yesterday. Bryce Petty made his first NFL start almost two years after being drafted, Jet players clearly knew that they'd have given up on the season once that decision was made, but were they really expecting to make the playoffs at 3-6 with two games still to play against the Patriots. I respect the decision to go with Petty, being self aware, knowing this season was a bust, and looking towards the future was the right route to go with this Jets team. Eric Decker said something along the lines of it would send a bad message that were giving up on the season if they start Petty, well no duh they're giving up on the season, Fitzpatrick sucks, they can't even get Mo Wilkerson to come to a walk through practice, and you still honestly believe you have a chance, get the hell out of here with that BS. All the players are still collecting checks, so they better not give up, and if they do give up you now know the type of character that player has and the thinning of the herd for next season gets that much easier for you. So let's stop with the nonsense and get down to the realization that this move was the best move for the organization moving forward.
Petty played like a young quarterback that was tossed into the fire. He completed 19/32 of his passes for 163 yards, and he threw his first touchdown along with his first interception in this one. The Rams actually have a very good defense despite not being a very good football team, so that didn't make Petty's job any easier. The Jets run game was actually pretty effective though which I thought would help make things easier for Petty, but the play calling kind of made you scratch your head. The Jets threw the ball 32 times with a quarterback playing his first game and only ran the ball 25 times. The Jets were averaging 5.6 yards per carry, meanwhile Petty was averaging 5.1 yards per attempt, so why the Jets didn't lean a little heavier on the ran game especially in a game where they never trailed by much was a little bit of a head scratchier for me. Guess they wanted to see what Petty was made of, which in all honesty, isn't much. Let's be honest Jet fans, if they thought this Petty kid had something he would've been playing a long time ago, they played him for the sole fact of well we drafted him so let's at least give him a shot before we declare the project a failure. Jets continue to bust on all these project QB's, Hackenberg is going to be just another one to add to the list, and they drafted him in the second round, meanwhile Dak went in the fourth, and is killing it for Dallas. Rams beat the Jets 9-6, in a disgusting, boring, no offense whatsoever game. The Rams were able to win for the second time this season without scoring a touchdown, pretty impressive actually, and although the Jets defense looked good against a horrible offense they were still outplayed by the Rams defense. Jets season is officially dead, they have no playoff hopes after falling to 3-7, and their future is looking gloomy since none of their 4 QB's can manage to play a decent game. The Jets continue to fail as a franchise because they can't find a guy who can throw the ball. On the bright side it looks like Romo will be out of Dallas after this year, so the Jets can sign old Tony Romo to come to New York, build up the hype, ultimately just to be another good quarterback that comes to NY at the end of his career and fails. Not to much optimism surrounding gang green these days as they continue to be a highly dysfunctional organization. Crazy how they don't just look at big brother aka the Giants and try to build their franchise like we built ours, I guess that's why we got 2 rings in the last 10 years, and they only got 1 in the last 50. Step it up Jets, your making New York look bad, can't always count on the Giants to carry the state on their back, well I guess you can since we've done it for the last 50 years.

By DjackAmerica's game of the week lived up to the hype this week as it was probably one of the most entertaining football games I've watched all season. The Cowboys were riding a 7 game winning streak and the Steelers needed a win to bring them back to life after getting off to a 4-4 start. One thing was for certain, both these teams played with a sense of urgency, and an extreme desire to win, that's why this game was such a gift from the football heavens. Well, that and the fact that these two offenses are filled with play makers, and both defenses lack talent at each level.
Pittsburgh's offense didn't take long to get things going, they scored on their first drive of the game, after forcing a fumble, and recovering it deep in Dallas territory. It was LeVeon Bell's first TD of the season, don't ask me how that's possible with all the touches he gets, but at least he finally broke into the end zone early in this one with a receiving touchdown. The Steelers would march down the field again, they would score another touchdown, and it looked like it was about to be a long day for Dallas. Pittsburgh was up 12-3 at this point in the game, they failed to convert two 2PT conversions, and Dallas was able to put together a nice little drive that came up just short resulting in a field goal. Dallas would answer the Pittsburgh long touchdown drive, with a quick touchdown drive, it was a screen pass caught behind the line of scrimmage by Ezekiel Elliot, he put on the after burners, made everyone look like they were running through molasses, and he got into the endzone on a 83 yard receiving touchdown to bring the score to 12-10. A field goal from each side occurred before the end of the first half and it was 15-13 going into the lockeroom, at this point their were only two lead changes and it looked like the Steelers could be in cruise control at this point if it weren't for an 83 yard screenplay, but that's why you don't let up the big plays because it gets teams right back in games. The second half was madness, it would include 5 lead changes alone, and a stunning finish to a glorious battle at Heinz Field. Pittsburgh opened the second half with a field goal to extend their lead to 18-13, Dallas would come right back though scoring 10 unanswered points to make the score 23-18, giving us our 3rd lead change of the game. Dak made an impressive throw that was an absolute dime to Dez Bryant that went for a 50 yard score, guess Dak and Dez will get along just fine after all if they can keep that big play connection up. The fourth quarter rolled around, Dallas was up 5, and they just had a 3 and out to kick off their first drive of the fourth quarter. Pittsburgh went 46 yards in 6 plays to score a touchdown on a 1 yard LeVeon Bell run as the Steelers took a 24-23 lead, failing once again to score on the 2PT conversion. Dallas, more importantly Dak was able to keep his composure on the road, he's down late on the road, in a hostile environment, and he elevates his game to the next level. Now that's something you just don't see out of a guy making his 9th start in the league. The Cowboys went on one of their patented 10 play 75 yard drives that lasted what feels like an eternity, realistically 6 minutes, but anyways Zeke capped the drive with his 2nd touchdown of the game giving Dallas a 29-24 lead with only 1:55 on the clock. Pittsburgh wasn't going to roll over and be handed their 5th loss of the season without Big Ben having something to say about it. Big Ben completed 4 passes in a row to get down to the Dallas 15 with about a minute to play. Ben rushed everyone to the line to spike the ball to kill the clock so they could get a better play call since they were now in the red zone, at least that's what he wanted everyone to think, Ben faked the spike, and Antonio Brown playing heads up football breaks free from his defender, and is open in the endzone for the touchdown as the Steelers take back the lead with just 42 seconds to play. Steelers were now up 30-29 after they failed to convert on the 2PT try once again, you'd think a team that does so many 2PT conversions would actually be pretty good at it, but the Steelers were 0-4 yesterday on the 2PT attempts. Dallas now had the ball at their own 25, 42 seconds on the clock, and they had all three of their timeouts. Now, Dallas only had to get a field goal to win, Dan Bailey being almost automatic didn't help the Steelers case, so prevent defense wasn't going to be the best idea in this situation. Dak completes three passes in a row after throwing an incompletion on his first attempt of the drive, this would get Dallas to about midfield, but Pittsburgh winds up getting a costly penalty, and 15 yards were tacked on putting Dallas on the Pittsburgh 32 yard line. At this point Dallas would try to pick up a couple yards and leave Dan Bailey with about a 45-47 yard field goal attempt, not a chip shot whatsoever, especially under the circumstances. Dallas wouldn't have to leave it to their kicker though, the Dallas offensive line parted the black and gold sea, and Ezekiel Elliot exploded through it with his incendiary speed as he goes untouched into the endzone on a 32 yard run to win the game. Pittsburgh got their hearts ripped out and Dallas continues to look like the team that will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Honestly, I'll give Dallas all the props in the world, they came into a hostile Heinz field environment, fought through adversity finding a way to win a hard fought game. That's what good championship caliber teams do, they find ways to win games, and the fact they're as young as they are it's pretty incredible. A rookie QB and rookie RB are playing better than a lot of the veterans in this league, you can thank the amazing Dallas offensive line for making things a helluva lot easier for them, but they're still executing to near perfection. Ezekiel Elliot is showing us just why he was worth being drafted in the top 5, he's a complete back that does everything well, and he's actually the front runner for the MVP right now I'd say. There's a lot of football still to be played, Cowboys have some tough games coming up down the stretch, no more gimmes on the schedule, so we'll get to see what this team is really made of. Hopefully this was just a super mirage because if they continue to play the way they are, they Giants better hope they can hold onto that wildcard spot because there's no way were catching Dallas. Pittsburgh on the other hand is in some serious trouble, I don't know what's going on in Pittsburgh, but they re not a 4-5 team. Tomlin better figure this out or his seat is going to continue to get hotter, especially since the AFC North should've been a gimme this year with the Bengals and Ravens both being very average teams, By DjackWhen the country needs an escape from reality, the NFL delivers once again with another classic Thursday Night game. Last night we had an AFC North showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns. We knew we were getting a gritty football game, where the trenches would be a battlefield, and the hits would be just a little harder than usual. Yeah maybe that'd all be true if this was a Pittsburgh vs Baltimore 4 years ago, but sadly that was not the case. The Browns were astonishing 0-9 going into this game, but that didn't matter to them, Terrell Pryor, the only good player on the team said they still like their chances of making the playoffs. We all know that's BS, what do you expect for him to say though, so I won't fry him for it. Browns have never been part of the glorious AFC North battles because they've always sucked, but even the Pittsburgh vs Baltimore games aren't quite the war zones that it used to be. AFC North has quietly become one of the worst divisions in football, honestly it's sad to see. The Ravens on the other hand were 4-4 still very much in the playoff picture despite being a very bad football team in their own right. In reality this game was more of a representation of our country's current situation than an escape from it. No good playoff candidates in the AFC North, but someone has got to win, sound familiar? Everyone knew this game was going to be a shit show before it even started, I'd say that's the approach to most of these Thursday night games, but this one delivered as the worst one yet. Browns got off to an early lead, showing that maybe tonight they'd ensure not to join the infamous list of 0-16 teams. They were playing with energy early and the Ravens looked flat. Browns actually held a 7-6 lead going into halftime, maybe it was their night, the stars shine brightest on the big stage, and this was definitley the Browns Super Bowl since it's their only nationally televised game of the season. The second half we saw an elite Joe Flacco, I mean as elite as Joe Flacco can be. Flacco threw 2 interceptions in the game, one coming in the second half, but for the most part he played well against the Browns. Ravens scored 3 touchdowns in the second half and the Browns might as well not have come out for the second half because it didn't look like they were even on the field to be honest. Hue Jackson did his weekly QB change mid game when he took out the Browns future Cody Kessler for Josh McCown to try to get that coveted first win of the season in week 10. Unfortunately, the QB switch did nothing, what a surprise. Browns lose to the Ravens 28-7, improving to 0-10 on the season, and now they're only 6 more losses away from tying an NFL record for most losses in a season. Isn't it only fitting if the Cleveland Browns can be part owner for the worst record in NFL history, it's actually a true travesty that they haven't accomplished this yet, Hue Jackson clearly off to a great start in Cleveland. Ravens on the other hand move into first place in the division, I'll say right now if this team actually ends up making the playoffs they might be the worst team to ever win their division, I doubt the Steelers and Bengals will choke that badly though. Who really knows, it's the new AFC North, filled with poor football teams, and total uncertainty week to week.

By DjackMonday Night Football was an A+ last night, it wasn't exactly the type of game I thought I'd get from Seattle and Buffalo, but it was a helluva game to say the least. Coming into the game my thought process was Seattle's defense is great so Buffalo's offense will struggle mightily, pretty straight forward stuff. The Buffalo defense is going to blitz a lot to put pressure on Russell Wilson to move around and make plays since he's injured. Boy was I wrong, this game was an offensive shootout, well at least in the first half it was, seemed like every drive was ending in points, and both offenses were playing like it was practice the way they were tearing up these defenses with little to no resistance. Tyrod Taylor and this Buffalo offense genuinely impressed me, I thought the Bills were stupid giving this kid the contract that they did, after seeing him play last night against one of the best defenses in the league I think they valued him just right if he can play like he did last night consistently. Taylor has a cannon for an arm, his accuracy is good, and he's able to extend plays along with picking up first downs using his legs. LeSean McCoy who we all know how good he is made at least 20 Seattle defenders miss throughout the night, half the time he looked dead to rights in the backfield, then all the sudden he'd give a few jukes, and bang he turned a two yard loss into a 5 yard gain. That's something we haven't seen from Shady McCoy this season, he's in the top 5 in the league in negative yards and negative attempts so to see him avoiding those types of losses, which just kill drives, was a huge improvement from him, and it reflected in how well the Buffalo offense was operating. Seattle's offense was firing on all cylinders as well, Russell Wilson was throwing the ball all over the field with incredible accuracy as he lit up the Buffalo secondary last night for 282 yards and a couple of touchdowns.. The big play of the first half was when Buffalo was looking to kick a field goal towards the end of the half, Richard Sherman ran offsides blocked the kick, but also ran into the kicker in the process. Sherman was flagged for offsides, Rex Ryan wanted him flagged for roughing the kicker, but he wasn't then the Bills had to try again after having to spike the ball to get their kicker in the game because he had to miss a play if he gets medical attention. Finally he gets the kick off, it's good, but wait, delay of game, he has to kick it again. This time he misses and Rex Ryan looked like he wanted to kill the referee, instead he trotted into the locker room with a 28-17 deficit. The Bills started the second half with a nice opening drive, they got all the way inside the Seattle 30, but Tyrod Taylor made a rare mistake throwing it to a spot where no receiver was to be found, and Sherman tracked it like a hawk picking it off in the endzone. Buffalo would get the ball back going on another long drive, this one 13 plays 82 yards, and this one resulted in a touchdown. The score was now 28-25 after Buffalo converted the 2pt conversion as well, Seattle would drive down get a field goal to extend their lead to 31-25 with about 10 minutes to play in the game. Buffalo had the ball late in the fourth on what would be their final drive of the game, they were inside the Seattle 10 yardline. Tyrod Taylor gets sacked on second down from the 7, and then gets sacked again putting Buffalo on the 15 yardline. It is now fourth down and Buffalo needs a touchdown, the pass falls incomplete, but on the other side of the field Richard Sherman lays a clear illegal hit on the wide receiver that goes unnoticed, no call, Seattle pulls out the victory in a game that they were utterly dominated, and Rex Ryan looks like he's going to lose his freaking mind. I don't have a clue to as how Seattle won this game, they had 150 yards less than Buffalo, they had 11 less first downs, and Buffalo had the ball for 40 minutes of the game, how do you dominate a game like that and lose. Buffalo ran 40 more offensive plays than Seattle and had to try to mount a comeback in the fourth, maybe I'd understand if Seattle had to make a miraculous comeback to win this game, but they had the lead the entire second half despite being utterly dominated. I'm not sure if that's a testament to how good Seattle is that they can still win games despite only having half the offensive plays and possession time than the opposition, or it just shows that Buffalo just can't close out on their drives. Also, I'd like to add that Buffalo had 11 penalties that cost them 115 yards, that will certainly derail drives if you keep accumulating stupid penalties. The Bills may have been screwed over by some bad officiating, but you can't leave the game up to the refs, Buffalo absolutely dominated this game, so I don't want to hear that 2 plays cost you the game when you had 40 more plays than the opposing team, you have no right to blame the officiating for the loss. This loss is on the Buffalo Bills for lack of discipline and lack of a secondary to not be able to hold Seattle under 30 points when they only had 40 offensive snaps, I'd be embarrassed to be apart of Bills mafia this morning.
By UppyGod being a Philly fan is tough. Eagles trade their starting QB 8 days before the season and we're all ready to throw in the towel on the 2016 season. Then this Carson Wentz guy who wasn't even supposed to be in pads for the year is starting and for the first three weeks he SLINGS it around the field, goes 3-0, and starts to make the fans believe.
We go on the bye and everyone is feeling good. Then we lose to the fucking Lions and proceed to lose to the entire NFC East in a month and now we sit at 4-4. WTF happened? At the end of September Doug Pederson could've ran for mayor and won in a landslide. Then he decides to be ballsy and go for it on 4th down a few too many times and people are starting to get antsy. We let the first couple of interesting moves go because he's a noob and just getting his feet wet. Now its week 10 and the cute mistakes aren't so cute anymore. If the Eagles lose another division game the season is over. The Cowboys sit at 7-1 and are dominating the NFC East. Mr Facial Expressions himself, Eli Manning, falls ass backwards into a W due to some poor Wentz mistakes and I'm ready to tank and draft a semi-capable WR who could possibly run and chew gum at the same time (something the Eagles WRs can't even think about doing because they don't know how to run routes or catch footballs). The bright side is that the Eagles have been in every game they've played. If a few plays go differently I could be sitting here calling for a Wentz/Pederson statue to be built next to Rocky. But instead, here I sit in a Dunkin Donuts while drinking the coffee that I HAD TO PAY FOR because for the fourth time in five weeks the Eagles lost. Please get it together guys because I can't afford to stop getting free coffee on Mondays like you guys got me for the first three weeks. #HelpPoorUppy Let's take the Wentz Wagon to Pep Boys and get a tune up or I'll just see you guys next September and become a Raiders fan for the remainder of the year. By DjackThe Denver Broncos went into Oakland last night looking to prove that they were still the team to beat in the AFC West. The Raiders were looking to defend their home turf and prove to the league that this was no mirage, that they were actually the real deal this year. I don't want to say Oakland dominated this game, but they dominated this game. Not much action in the first quarter, the Raiders forced to back to back three and outs for the Broncos offense, off each of those three and outs they were able to put together good drives that ultimately were stopped a little short of the endzone, which forced them to settle for field goals. Oakland was up 6-0 after the first as Oakland's offense was moving the ball pretty well against Denver, meanwhile Denver could not move the ball against Oakland whatsoever. Oakland scored early in the second quarter on a drive that started late in the first quarter, it was 9 plays for 57 yards capped by a Latavius Murray rushing touchdown. Oakland led 13-0, things were not looking good for the Denver offense, starting the game with four straight 3 and outs is never a good sign of things to come in a game, especially against a Raiders defense that has been pretty awful all year. Denver finally put together a nice little drive, it was 7 plays for 84 yards, the big play of the drive being a 36 yard touchdown pass to Jordan Norwood. Both teams would score again before the half, the Raiders able to add on another 7 with another drive ending in a Latavius Murray touchdown run, and the Broncos kicked a field goal as time expired in the first half, the score was 20-10 going into halftime. The second half was a little more the type of game we expected, not too much scoring because Denver's defense was supposed to be able to shut down anyone and Denver's offense is downright ineffective without C.J. Anderson carrying them. The nail in the Coffin for Denver was when Trevor Siemian was strip sacked by Khalil Mack to give the Raiders awesome field position with a 10 point lead. The score was 23-13 at this point, both teams were able to get field goals early in the second half, and now the Raiders had the ball in Denver territory mid way through the fourth. Latavius Murray would get his 3rd rushing touchdown of the night, ultimately ending the game since they now had a 17 point lead with just 6 minutes to play. Denver would score quickly on a 69 yard touchdown pass, but that would be all she wrote as Oakland takes sole possession of first place in the AFC West for the first time this season after beating Denver 30-20. Denver's offense cannot continue to perform like this if they want to stay in the playoff picture, they had 13 first downs last night compared to Oakland's 30, time of possession wise this was one of the more lop sided matchups I've ever seen, Oakland had the ball for 41 minutes on offense last night, you're not going to win any games when you only have the ball for 19 minutes. They lost basically every single team matchup whether it was the time of possession battle like I just stated, or the turnover battle which they have done a good job of winning all year. Denver has now lost 3 of their last 5 games, it seems like they're starting to look like the team I thought they'd be in the beginning of the season, and Oakland on the other hand is probably going to exceed the already high expectations I had set for them coming into the season. Denver needs to dig deep because their schedule doesn't let up at all the rest of the way, Chiefs twice, Patriots, Saints, and Raiders all going to be tough games for them, although they do have a couple gimmes against the Titans and Jaguars. Oakland also has a lot of tough games left on their schedule, but they have set themselves up nicely where they can still lose a few, but if they win their division games they'll be AFC West champs without question. AFC West is definitely the most competitive division in football so if the Raiders can make it out on top look for them to raise some hell in the playoffs. Just win baby, perfect motto for this Raiders squad, Derek Carr doesn't care how it looks just wants the W at the end of the day, that's a true competitor, every team passed on Derek Carr at least once in the draft, and he wants to make sure they regret that by winning his team football games. He's done a damn good job of that and will hopefully continue to do so.
By DjackIt can never a be a Sunday filled with relaxation and happiness when your a Giants fan, this held true once again this past Sunday as we took on division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. Early in the game the Giants went up 14-0 after Carson Wentz threw interceptions on back to back drives, the Giants did an excellent job of capitalizing off the turnovers turning it into an early 14 point lead. Giants being able to score touchdowns in the red zone has been a problem for us all year, but yesterday the one time we were in the red zone Eli threw a little floater to the back of the endzone, and Odell hit his natural spring board to make the grab over the defender. Statistically the Giants offense did a fine job yesterday, but that's why the numbers sometimes lie. Giants may have been able to make the big touchdown plays as Eli threw 3 touchdown passes of 20+ yards, but the travesty that is our run game stops us from being able to put together methodical drives. Giants had one legitimately good drive yesterday, that was the 10 play 75 yard drive that they had right after Philadelphia had scored a touchdown to start the second half. Not only was it a great drive because it was 10 plays and took 5 minutes off the clock, but it came at a crucial part in the game where Philadelphia was only down by 4, gaining some serious momentum. Other than that the offense didn't put together any drives that impressed me, we had 15 drives yesterday, 2 of them went for more than 5 plays, we need to get better at moving the chains, and we still need to protect the ball better. Eli threw two interceptions in the 4th, granted neither of him were really his fault one was tipped, and the other was just a freak of nature play by the Eagles defensive back. Giants were up 28-23 with about 2 minutes to go after Eli's second interception, mind you if that pass got completed instead of intercepted the Giants would've won right then and there, but of course they weren't going to make it easy on us, they were going to make sure cardiac arrest was inevitable before this game was over. Now, the Eagles have the ball with plenty of time at our 34 yard line, only thing we have going for us is that they need a touchdown to take the lead, a field goal does nothing for them, funny part of that being is the Eagles head coach passed up on two oppurtunities to kick field goals by going for it on fourth down and failing, now it was really coming back to haunt him because if he took the points instead of trying to be a hero, Eagles would be the ones in the drivers seat at this stage of the game. Well, despite Doug Pederson's awful judgement and play calling for that matter because one of the fourth down attempts he ran one of the most absurd QB boot legs I've ever seen, it wouldn't have worked in a high school football game let alone a professional one. Anyways, I'm sitting on my couch shitting my pants as FOX shows all the times the Giants had previously blown big leads at the Meadowlands, and all I'm thinking is this is just going to be another date to add on that list. To my surprise, the Giants defense once again was able to close out the game for us, something they were unable to do at all last year, so anyone saying this defense wasn't worth the money you're bugging, we have at least 4 of our wins thanks to this defense. Wentz wasn't able to prove he has the clutch gene once again as he falls to defeat in the waning moments of the game in back to back weeks. I have to say though this Philly defense is really real, like that defensive front with Fletcher Cox, Conor Barwin, and Brandon Graham is scary good. I also thought the secondary wasn't going to be all that great in coverage which they weren't to be honest, but damn those guys in the secondary can make some huge plays. Eagles only real problem is they have literally no playmakers on offense, Darren Sproles is their best offensive weapon, and let's be honest he shouldn't be an every down back in this league, let alone your best weapon. Once Wentz can get some weapons I'll be very worried about Philly, until then they're below average on offense, and their defense will allow them to hang around in games. Giants on the other hand are in a great position, we have the Bengals, Bears, and Browns coming up if we can win 2 of those games, which if we don't is embarrassing, we'll improve to 7-4, I love our chances of making the playoffs at that point. I don't know how, but if the season ended today the Giants would be the first wild card spot, if we can continue to keep improving each week like we have been, I think we definitley give Dallas a run for the division title, and make some noise in the playoffs as well. Bleed Blue Baby.
By DjackAnother Thursday night thriller, NFL seems to out due themselves every week with these competitive matchups that have us on the edge of our seats all night. Honestly, the quality of these games are pathetic, since week 3 there hasn't been a Thursday night game decided by 7 points or less, and 5 of the 9 games have been blowouts. NFL tries to solve the problem of shitty games by doing this color rush nonsense, half the jerseys look like they could just be the teams regular jerseys, at least be unique about it if you want to make the jerseys more appealing. Anyways, regardless of the quality of it there was still a game played tonight, Falcons did exactly what they should do if they're the caliber of team that wants to make a deep playoff run, and that's beat the crap out of a below average Bucs team. Matt Ryan, and the Falcons #1 offense continued to flow with rhythm to the tune of 43 points. Ryan threw for 4 touchdowns, 344 yards, and completed 73% of his passes as he continues to build his MVP resume. The road gets a little tougher for the Falcons offense in the upcoming weeks as they take on 5 defenses that rank in the top half of the league, Falcons do have 4 home games out of their final 7, and one of the road games is against the Rams so Matt Ryan won't have to face much bad weather if any this season which leads me to believe they will make the playoffs. Falcons run game was able to be productive even though emerging stud running back Tevin Coleman was absent from tonight's game. Buccaneers offense was a different story, this team was openly displaying their dysfunction for everyone to clearly see as Jameis Winston verbally abused about everyone on the offense at some point. Statistically the stats were their for Winston, 261 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, 110 passer rating, and he completed 62% of his passes, clearly he wasn't the problem. The run game with Doug Martin being out since week 3, Jacquizz Rodgers going down last week, was now down to a rookie, and a couple of guys they found in the parking lot before the game. Obviously their run game was none existent tonight because of the extreme lack of talent they have available at the position. Falcons defense was decent, nothing to get too excited about, they allowed 28 points, but they also may have laid off the gas a little at the end because there was a good stretch of the game in which they shut the Bucs down. There was 7 drives in a row from the Buccaneers that failed to go more than 40 yards, 4 of which went for less than 20 yards, and to put it in perspective the Bucs only had 10 drives in this game. Safe to say the Dirk Koetter experiment has been a failure. Koetter was supposed to come in and elevate Jameis Winston to elite quarterback status, when in fact he has caused Winston to regress, Winston is on pace to throw 5 more interceptions this year than his rookie season, his yards per attempt is down a whole yard, and his passer rating has dropped a few points. This is not what they had in mind when Koetter took over, the Bucs offensive line has been pretty average they're in the middle of the pack when it comes to sacks allowed, so you can't blame the pass protection for the lack of production. Penalties really killed the Bucs tonight, 11 penalties for 85 yards, no wonder why the couldn't get any rhythm going on offense. Tonight we saw two teams that were on completely opposite ends of the football spectrum, the Buccaneers are a completely lost dysfunctional franchise with no sign of heading in the right direction, and the Falcons have a true identity which is put pressure on other defenses with an aerial assault mixed with a two headed monster in the running game, giving their defense the opportunity to play with the lead taking the pressure off them so they can blitz and be more aggressive. That's why the Falcons will be in the playoffs and the Buccaneers will have their 6th straight losing season.
By UppyFollowing his arrest on Tuesday for possession of marijuana and a handgun after being pulled over for speeding, wide receiver Josh Huff has been released by the Eagles. I gotta say this is a little bit surprising to me. I feel like we haven't gotten a lot of details about this incident, but this still feels like the right move for the Birds. Huff is really only good for being fast as he has had problems with drops and just getting targets in general. When asked about the incident, Josh Huff told reporters "what professional athlete don't have a gun?" which is probably true but BRUH. That is not your line in this moment of your life right now. Instead of being apologetic and owning up to your mistake, you come out trying to sound like the victim. Josh Huff acting like people are always trying to rob him and he needs protection. I am an Eagles FAN (in case you didn't know) and if Josh Huff walked up to me on the street I wouldn't know it was him. So who the FUCK is out to rob Josh Huff to the point where he thinks he needs a gun. Looking at this from an organizational standpoint its smart for the Eagles to distance themselves from controversy, but the fact that an NFL player is gonna lose his job for weed and a gun is so dumb. Don't you have guys in your entourage who carry the guns and drugs for you so this shit doesn't happen?? Didn't Cris Carter tell you to always have a fall guy?! |
