By BobThe NBA season is only a few weeks out, and the notorious J.R Smith still does not have a home for next season. Most people assume the Cavs owners will cave in and pay the sharpshooter, but according The New York Daily News' Frank Isola reported "that the Boston Celtics are among several teams interested in Smith". I would find it highly doubtful that Smith leaves the Land that brought him his first championship and helped him redeem his career. The boys on the Cavaliers (Lebron particularly) love Smith, they consider the guy family.Although it is interesting to think about Smith actually departing for a new home, one where he can have some more spotlight. He may be a major clog in Clevelands offense, but it does not take a scientist to figure out he is the fourth or fifth option. J.R Smith is known for loving being the center of attention, so it would not be the biggest shocker to see him jump towns real quick. Boston really would be the perfect spot for him, and if he were to join forces with the Celts it would give them the shooter they need to compete with the Cavs for the East. A roster boasting Isiah Thomas, Al Hordford, J.R Smith and a bunch of above average players could easily win 55+ games, no questions asked. This thought is more of a dream for you Boston fans though, as I do not think Smith is leaving Cleveland anytime soon. He was spotted actually rooting for the Indians in game two of the ALDS against the Red Sox with Lebron and the boys, so I think that is some foreshadowing. I cannot blame Smith if he resigns, because the Cavs are going to be the only team that can take down the losers in Oracle Arena.
