By DjackIt's official the 2017 NBA All Star game has been moved to New Orleans. Just to recap the prior events, in July, the game was removed from Charlotte due to the governor passing some legislation discriminating against the LGBT community. Its 2016, people are still trying to discriminate, and it's only hurting themselves. The city of Charlotte should be very upset, one because they are losing an awesome All Star weekend, but they are also losing millions of dollars in revenue. I guess being ignorant really does come with a price. The New Orleans Pelicans, are probably so happy they got to steal this game away from the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets stole the Pelicans name after they were done using it and now the Pelicans took their All Star game. We all know that's why they pushed so hard to host the festivities. Any fan of the All Star weekend should be happy about this move as well, New Orleans is a way better party town then Charlotte could ever be. I mean February in New Orleans is going to be very poppin this year with All Star game festivities and Mardi Gras all in a couple weeks time, might be a good vacation spot (as I look up prices on Expedia). All in all, great day for the NBA they get their All Star game into a great city, a city that could use an event like this to pull them closer together. On the other hand, the Governor of North Carolina aka the scumbag that passed the H2B legislation, takes a huge L and losses a crap load of money for that city.

By, BobThe 2011 MVP is bringing some confidence back to NY and I could not be more hyped. After going out on a limb to call the Knicks a "super team" and compare them to the Warriors, he did not back down from his statements even after being ripped to threads on the internet. Today, it was reported via ESPN.com's Ian Begley that Rose stated "I still believe that" and that"you should believe in yourself and have the confidence in yourself that you're playing on a super team anywhere".
Can we take a second and give a round of applause to D-Rose? This man has had countless injuries that have derailed a possible HOF worthy career and he still has as much confidence as a 21 year old walking into a bar for the first time without a fake. That takes fucking guts man, I love his mind set. Let the haters hate, Derrick, because there is not a doubt in my mind you are having a bounce back season and are gonna cook with Melo and Kristaps. Now that he won't be the main point of offense anymore, the chances of him getting injured to fatigue will go down substantially which will make him that much more of a potent player. People can hate on the Knicks all they want for going after "injury prone" players this off-season like D-Rose, Joakim Noah, and Brandon Jennings. These guys have some of the biggest hearts in all of the NBA and are gonna bring a new level of tenacity to the garden that we havent seen since Melo first arrived. Don't believe me? Than your memory must not be all there. Noah finished in 4th in the 2014 MVP voting behind the likes of Lebron, KD and and Blake Griffen. Sure, he had a tough season last year in Chicago but he has had time to heal and now it's back to hustling on the hardwood and being a huge momentum booster. I am telling you all right now, do not laugh at Roses comments. With the Knicks finally having a strong (and healthy) starting 5 along with a decent bench they will easily make the Eastern Conference Finals and give the Cavs a run for their money. Sleep on them all you want, heart and hustle will win every time. By MukWe have heard over the past week, a few NBA stars claim that to them, an Olymlic Gold Medal is more important to them than an NBA title. First, Melo made this comment last week and took a decent amount of heat for it, from the media and fans, and I couldn't disagree more with Carmelo. He is looking to win his 3rd gold medal, and become the only man in US men's basketball to do so, while still ringless. I admire Melo's contributions to the US basketball program as much as the next proud American, but at no point should that be the pinnacle of his career. The United States should win EVERY gold medal in basketball, it is ours to lose every Olympics. However, the NBA title is the crown jewel of the basketball world, and you don't play an 82 game season just to have it all for nothing, you start every single season with the goal of winning that ring. The next player to add to Melo's comments was Deandre Jordan, who even said he knew he would probably receive some criticism for the comment. Now is it a red flag on the situation to anyone else that no player who has ever made it past the Conference Finals had ever said anything about Gold being greater than a ring? Do Lebron & Steph feel that way, from their couches this summer? Winning is everything and the only thing in professional sports, and in a sport where 90% of it's popularity comes from regular season games and the playoffs that come along with it, I don't think you'll find anyone who would rather watch Olympic pool play, with the US vs. Argentina, rather than Lebron vs. Steph in the finals. Melo, focus on getting that US team on track and getting them to play as a team and not just a group of individual players, and please let this be the end of the Medal vs. Ring conversation.
via mycn2.comBy Nicky DSo Brittney Griner thinks she can beat Demarcus Cousins one on one.... Probably the funniest thing I've heard all week. The fact that she has such confidence that she can beat him makes me want to see this happen just so she can get completely shut down. I'll give it to her she's a great Athlete and a great women's basketball player but I don't think she'd last against anyone in the NBA. Cousins has about 70 pounds and 3 inches on Griner and overall just more experience. If Griner thinks she can beat cousins, one of the best centers In the game then why isn't she in the NBA? For that matter why isn't any women in the NBA? I'm sorry to tell you but the facts are that they wouldn't be able to compete, that's why they have the WNBA. A few years back before Griner got drafted I remember there were rumors about Mark Cuban Interested in giving Griner try outs for the Mavericks. If anyone knows Cuban he's a multi billionaire entrepreneur, he clearly just wanted to stir up some attention. As this was going on in 2013 here's what Connecticut women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma had to say about it : via USATODAY.com
And there you have it, this is coming from a coach of a women's basketball team. All I have to say is I hope you were joking Brittney and you gave all of us a good laugh. There is absolutely no denying I have love for Lebron James, I debatably love him more then drinking... okay that's a little too far. Really though, I respect his game and character more then any other player alive but...he is far from Mr. Michael Jordan. Asides for his deeds to the community this summer, Lebron has brought up the living legend multiple times. First, he stated how he was motivated by "chasing the ghost that played in Chicago" which I actually find pretty whack. No shit you are Lebron, every person who picks up a basketball tries to model their career to try and become the greatest ball player who has ever lived. You don't need to come flat out in the open and say Jordan motivates you to keep playing, it makes you look like you literally want to be the man. As if that one claim at Jordan's legacy didn't already make him look thirsty enough it was reported today that Lebron stated once he retired that "My dream is to actually own a team". Hm, let me think that sounds kind of familiar. Is your goal to own the Charlotte Hornets too or do you just want Michael to notice you? I know Jordan isn't the only great player to now own a franchise (shoutout Larry Bird, don't sleep on the Pacers this year) but after his comments earlier in the summer it seems like Lebron has a man crush of that ghost in Chicago. If I were you Lebron, I'd keep the Jordan comments to a dull roar. Make your own legacy and stop trying to model it by the man who made basketball exciting. I love Lebron, but he will never catch up to the greatest player to ever live if he lets it be the thought in the back of his head during the rest of his career, it will only keep him from his full potential. By, BobBy, Bob"The peoples champ must be everything the people can't be" - Chance The Rapper
When i think of these lyrics from Chances newest album "The Coloring Book", I cannot help think but of the champ himself Lebron James. Not only is he a once in a lifetime athlete who has been the greatest basketball player for the last decade, but he is a model citizen who a lot of athletes and people in general should take a note from. Lebron is everything people strive to be in their lives: athletic, wealthy, successful, the list really can go on and on. However on the low, the most respectable trait the Lebron possesses is his generosity. Lebron did the impossible during the 2016 finals, he put his team on his back, down 3-1 with almost all hope lost and beat the Golden Boys with easily the most impressive basketball i have ever watched live. After his historic performance, Lebron announced he would be signing back with the Cavaliers on a rightfully deserved 3-year $100M deal. After bringing back a title after about a 50 year drought and getting a huge payday, you would think Lebron would take that money he earned and go and have a lit summer similar to his boy J.R Smith. That is what separates Lebron from regular athletes though, because the headlines about him over the summer have not been about the exotic places he has traveled to, but for the good deeds he is doing. The night of the ESPY's was his first and quite possibly his biggest push to make a difference in our country. Alongside his best friends Dwade, Me7o, and CP3 the future NBA hall-of-famers spoke out to a torn country over the police brutality controversy and about the importance of being leaders in such a dark time. The words they spoke were influential to say the least, and could be deemed as a sign of hope by having such caring men trying to change the world. James didn't stop after this, through his "I Promise" program the superstar sent 1,100 kids with similar backgrounds he had growing up to The University of Akron all on 4 year scholarships that equaled out to $41 Million Dollars. $41, Million, Dollars. The average athlete would not go out of their way to perform such a saintly act but hey, Lebron is not your average athlete. His summer of kindness did not stop there though, as today it was reported today that he would be sending 5,000 kids and their families to Cedar Point which is an amusement park in Cleveland. If that does not sound like the coolest guy ever, maybe i just don't know what the definition of cool is. Regardless, the "I Promise" initiative Lebron has started is something other athletes should start doing. With the massive paydays this summer and even bigger ones coming in the near future, it would make the world such a better place if the money these athletes spent were on positive life changing programs similar to the one Lebron has made. I am not saying other athletes don't give back to the community, but i doubt any of them can say they put over 1000 kids through college or went down a water slide with any of their fans. Lebron James goes above and beyond the normal, he has being doing it since day one and that folks is why he is the great one. by Djack"Young also seemed at peace surrounding an incident that fueled frustration throughout a taxing 2015-16 season. Young maintained he no longer harbors animosity toward Lakers second-year guard D'Angelo Russell, who secretly recorded Young on his phone admitting to infidelities with rapper and former fiancee Iggy Azalea. When the video accidentally became public late last season, Young was not initially receptive toward Russell's efforts to apologize.
Young has since dismissed concerns on whether he could coexist with Russell, who represents a significant part of the Lakers' young roster. "We're teammates," Young told the Southern California News Group. "It's been so long, so it's kind of old." - Mark Medina LA daily news I never gave this feud much attention for the obvious reason that D'Angelo Russell has value and Nick Young is more useless than wet toilet paper. Although, every fan does hate to see that their star player is a rat but if he lives up to expectations no one is going to care that a 19 year old made a bad decision and posted something dumb on social media. He's a teenager and everyone was so quick to crucify him for not following bro code, the guy warms the bench for him so I doubt D'Angelo Russell even cares that Nick Young hates him. D'Angelo is probably at Iggy's crib right now laughing at Nick Young who is basically just begging for a spot on the roster at this point. Via netsdaily.comBy Nicky DLast month Jeremy Lin inked a deal with the Brooklyn Nets to once again make his return to New York. What can we expect? Pretty much nothing. During the 2012 season when Lin played for the Knicks, in his first 10 games he averaged almost 25 points per game almost 10 assists per game and shot nearly 50% from the field. In 26 games that he started that season before tearing his meniscus he averaged 18.5 points and nearly 8 assists a game. Since his stint with the Knicks, Lin has played for the Rockets, Lakers, Hornets and now the Nets. The NBA has never experienced a performance by Lin remotely similar to linsanity again and probably never will. Linsanity was too good to be true, over the past 3 seasons Lin is averaging a little under 12 points and just about 4 assists a game. I wish Lin the best as he comes back to New York, but I won't expect much. By MukWith KD skipping town with his tail between his legs and leaving the Thunder organization reeling from the loss, it is now time for Russell to take complete hold of the reigns in Oklahoma City. In my opinion Russell was the clear MVP 2 seasons ago, but when the injury ridden Thunder failed to make the playoffs, he was skipped over for Steph. Russell is an absolute monster in every aspect of his game, and even MJ referred to him as "me 30 years ago". He has the killer instinct, the passing ability, the shooting and driving scoring talent, and can rebound and defend. He is a walking triple double. I cannot wait to see what he does as the true #1 on his team this season, especially now with the help of a great guard in Victor Oladipo. Right now Victor is listed as the TwoGuard for the Thunder, but I can see him and Russell running some sort of free roam guard set.
Following up Russell in the MVP odds are Steph at 4-1, the King at 5-1, followed by cowardly Kevin at 12-1 and AD at 16-1. Now while I would put my money on Russell, the other 4 players on this list can cause all sorts of damages for defenses. Who knows how the Steph & KD show will go, and who will lose touches and who will gain, so for the time being those two has a big question mark over their heads in my book. Now as for Lebron, I think we can make the argument every single year that he is the MVP both statistically, and the way he described in his interview last year after Steph was named MVP. He is a once in a generational player and to discredit any single season he has is ludicrous. Finally with Anthony Davis, I expect huge things from him this season, as he tried to rebound from an injury filled season. He is one of the greatest young talents the NBA has seen in a long time, with the ability to shoot, rebound and defend from anywhere on the court. He is a superstar in every sense of the word, and if his teammates can for once give him some help, he and the Pelicans can put together a great season. by DjackVia D'Allan Brixx Youtube blog Your 2020 NBA Champions, the Los Angeles Lakers. Yes, you heard it here first folks the Lakers will be atop the NBA once again, in just a few short seasons. Let me break this down before y'all go haywire and call me a buffoon. We have the best young core in the league between Julius Randle, D'Angelo Russell, Larry Nance Jr., Ivica Zubac, Jordan Clarkson, and Brandon Ingram. It takes young stars like these guys, about 3 to 4 years in the league to catch up with the other guys and really get a feel for the new pace and level of play in the NBA. Three to four years from now is the perfect time to have a team on the rise, players like Lebron and Durant will be in the latter stages of their career and will be on the way out. Teams like Golden State and the Spurs won't have the same core group of guys they have now due to contracts and egos. I know, I'm a stupid Laker fan grasping at any ridiculous theory for hope, especially after a franchise worst 16 wins last season. I'm also kinda serious, I really feel like three years down the road we can be competitive playoff team looking to make a push for the Finals. These young guys are going to have a shit ton of time to develop great chemistry with one another while growing into superstars individually. D'Angelo Russell, aka the snitch, will leave his history in the past where it belongs and will become the leader of this Franchise going forward. I have an astonishing amount of confidence in this young group, they kinda remind me of the "core four" the Yankees had in the late 90's. Now, they just need to mimic what the Yankees did and start stock piling championship trophy's.
