By DjackWhat an ugly series this was for the Yankees. The first two games of the series the Yankees couldn't manage to score a single run, pathetic. 18 innings of baseball and you can't score one run, that's unacceptable for a team trying to make the postseason. Chad Green, left the first game with an elbow injury that has ended his season. The rest of that game was made up of the Orioles hitting home run after home run, they went onto win 8-0. Game two, was just an awful game, C.C. actually threw well but got no run support. An Adam Jones home run was all the Orioles needed as they went onto win 2-0. Judge has continued to be useless, only getting one hit in nine at bats, and he struck out six times. That's atrocious, every game he's looking more and more like an Adam Dunn, except he hasn't even been hitting many home runs. Gary Sanchez, has slowed down tremendously, but has still found ways to get on base in each game. Nobody could've expected him to consistently stay on that tear all season. The guys around him have to take some of that pressure off of him, he's only a rookie you can't expect him to keep carrying this team all season. Time for Vets to step up now, they're making plenty of fucking money it's time to earn that because lord knows they haven't all season. We managed to salvage a game in this series today, thank god. Pineda got into trouble in the 5th and was replaced by Severino who put the O's offense on lock down for two innings. The Yankees actually found ways to get runners in today and we won 4-2. If we didn't our playoff hopes would've basically been dead. They're already looking bleak, the schedule doesn't get any easier as we have to take on the Blue Jays next. It's a must win series for the Yankees to say the least, but if I'm going to be completely honest, we have to sweep them if we want to seriously get ourselves back into playoff contention.
