by DjackVia Fox Sports Today, the Yankees announced that Nathan Eovaldi will be undergoing Tommy John surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2016 season. As much as I'd love to say this is a big blow to the team, it's not. Eovaldi, has been the definition of inconsistent all year long posting a 9-8 record with a 4.76 ERA. This has been the story of Nathan Eovaldi's career as a Yankee, an ace like performance followed up by a clueless i forgot how to pitch performance. This is just another chance for a young gun to step up in the rotation and produce, from the looks of how the young guns have done so far that looks quite promising. If this were Tanaka id be crying in the corner of my room till next spring, but for now the Yankees playoff chances shouldn't be altered. This could be a blessing in disguise if we call someone up and they pitch lights out. If not, we find out a prospect doesn't have the juice that we thought he had and don't miss out on much since, Eovaldi is a very very average pitcher at best.
