By DjackNormally, growing up kids idolize the guy who is the flashy superstar of the team. The guy who hits the moonshot home runs or the guy who is generally just the best hitter on their respective team. Well, the kids got it all wrong. Not everyone can be the three hitter and be the Alex Rodriguez or Barry Bonds of their team. But, every kid can be a Hunter Pence. 100% every game, scratch that, 100% every single play of the game. I mean this savage puts his body on the line every night laying out for balls, crashing into walls, and even taking foul tips to the face. A high energy guy like Pence is what every team needs, someone that can just spark a fire under the team at any given moment by just making hustle plays. I respect guys like that the most, sometimes I feel like these big name players or even the role players aren't always hustling as hard as they should be because they have the big guaranteed contract already. Hunter Pence, earns every single penny that he gets paid, day in day out giving his all for his team, that is the guy you want in your clubhouse. He's a big part of the Giants success in those world series runs even though he's overlooked a majority of the time. It's a shame he is overlooked just because his numbers aren't flashy, he does the little things that help get the grind it out wins and i respect that more than anything. This is the guy you want your little league son to look up to, the guy that's going hard every second of the game and puts winning before his own performance. Now sit back and enjoy what real a real baseball player looks like. |
