By DjackChad Green, left Friday's game in the second inning after feeling pain in his elbow. It's unsure right now if he will have to get Tommy John surgery or not. Best case scenario he just needs to rest it and will be able to return for the start of next year. Worst case scenario, the obvious, Tommy John surgery, if that's the case kiss the 2017 season goodbye and probably your future with the Yankees. The Yankess aren't going to wait around till 2018 for this kid to be ready to pitch again, that's blasphemy. This is the Yankees we're talking about, they're not going to wait around for a middle of the road prospect to rehab, and learn how to pitch in the big leagues. By then, the Yankees will have a boatload of cap space, along with a bunch of prospect with higher ceilings than Green. He's just not a special enough pitcher for the Yankees to wait around on. If Green has to get surgery, he will most likely never pitch for the Yankees again, so if he wants to keep playing in the Bronx, he better pray his elbow isn't seriously injured. Either way, he's going to have a solid career whether or not it's with theYankees, he's proven he gets batters out efficiently at the highest level. In regards to this effecting the Yankees playoff hopes, it certainly doesn't help, that's for sure. Severino will replace him in the rotation so hopefully he can return to last season's form. If not he's going to start looking more like s bust and the Yankees playoff hopes will look even dimmer.
