by MukThe surging Cubbies who had not lost a game all August going into this weekend, dropped back to back games against their NL Central Rival Cardinals. Their bullpen has struggled, and botched another good outing by their starting pitching, as last night's games was almost identical to Saturday's loss. Hector Rondon entered in the 8th, pitching for the first time in 12 days after his tricep soreness, it was reported he was 100%. He struggled badly, allowing 4 runs on 2 homers, before being replaced by Travis Wood who allowed an RBI double to Grichuk. The pen failed the Cubs in the back half of the 4 game series with the Cards, but they can only hope these struggles are short lived. Rizzo placed exceptional, going 3-4 with 3 RBI's, including a home run in the bottom half of that terrible 8th inning. The Cubs bats continue to do damage as the young talent is looking to close out the division in the coming weeks and gear up for their biggest test of their careers, this years post season run. Will history repeat itself or is this their year?
