By BobWell, a shitty Miami Heat team just got even worse. The most surprising player on their roster last season, Josh Richardson, is out for an unspecified amount of team after tearing his MCL. With D-Wade out of town for good, and the likes of Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson as options at the 2, Miami needs as much help as they can get. I have always had a soft spot for the Heat ever since Lebron went their, so i personally feel really bad for them. I think this guy has the potential to be an everyday starter once he gets some more minutes. In his first year, Richardson did work while he could averaging 6.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.7 steals while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 46.1 percent from three in only 21.3 minutes a night. With this setback, who knows when he will come back and if he will return to the same caliber of a player that he was last year. With the teams best players being Hassan Whiteside and Chris "deathbed" Bosh, i would be a very worried Miami fan. Their fall from grace has been a smooth transition as of now, but i'm predicting this is their worst season in the last decade. If i had to make a guess, i think he will be back around the beggining of 2017 but he wont be in his full form. I do not think we are going to see the potential we saw in him as a rookie until he can be 100% healthy during the 2017-2018 season.

By DjackThe NBA season is about two months away and the hype surrounding the Warriors this season is wild. With the addition of Kevin Durant in the off season, expectations this year are even higher than last, but how is that possible. This team won 73 games last year, something I never thought I'd see in my entire life, now all the buzz is about will they break that record this year. Absolutely not, for a team to have a season like that, the team has to be blessed by no major injuries and great team chemistry. The chemistry and health factor were both on the Warriors side last year, but I think that fortune will change this year. By adding Durant, you add a guy that's going to want the most or the second most shots on the team, I know these guys will never admit it, but everyone loves to be one of the main guys scoring the rock. Let's just say I don't think Klay and Draymond are going to be too happy about taking the back seat to Durant, I think chemistry problems will flair up, and it'll affect their play. Curry said in an interview that " 74 (wins) isn't really a goal, if it happens it happens, but all of our energy will be spent on getting ourselves ready for a championship run." The way Curry words some things just really pisses me off, just say it's not a goal we won 73 games last year and that lead to nothing, so why would we care about getting 74. That's what he should've said, but instead he decides to basically say its not really a goal, unless we get close towards the end of the season, and then we'll make it a goal. This is just like that scenario the other day when he said, " I wasn't 100 percent, but who cares." That being in regards to if he was injured in the finals, obviously you still care if you're bringing it up Steph. No, he wasn't trying to throw a subtle excuse in their anywhere, no Steph wouldn't do that. I can't wait to see Cleveland keep shitting on this kids parade as he throws little temper tantrums his entire career until Daddy Lebron and Uncle Drew finally stop beating up on him.
By BobThe career of Jrue Holiday thus far has been filled with injuries and unfulfilled potential. The person who seemed like a future star point guard in the league is now only an average starter who can barely stay healthy the entire year. Although i am not blogging about Jrue Holiday today to bag on his mediocre NBA career, in fact I have nothing but respect for the guy.
Jrue and his wife Lauren (a retired women's soccer player) learned some horrific news this past June, that Lauren had a brain tumor on the right side of her brain. To make the predicament even more serious, Lauren is seven months pregnant with Jrues' unborn baby daughter. I don't know how i would react if i was Jrue, because personally i cannot imagine a more frightening scenario. On the bright side, the tumor has been deemed by doctors as treatable and she can make a full recovery. Although the tricky part is that she will have to go through the pregnancy first before the surgery to remove the tumor, which will require her to have the baby early. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, Jrue will be missing and "indefinite" amount of time from the Pelicans this season. Lauren has to wait six weeks after having the baby in late September for doctors to perform the surgery. Jrue said regarding his circumstances "My family comes before basketball, I'm obviously blessed to play this game and be in the position I am in, but my wife is the most important thing in the world to me. She comes before anything else." I give all the credit in the world to Jrue Holiday because he is 100% making the right call here. Family comes before anything and Jrue understands it is his duty to take care of his newborn child and ailing wife. Since the surgery will probably happen some point in early November, Jrue probably will not be in the Pelicans starting lineup anytime soon. Well hey at least they aren't really good to begin with anyway so its not like he is missing anything that important. Sorry Anthony Davis, its most likely going to be another wasted year of your career. The front office is fine with his decision anyways, Alvin Gentry the Pelicans head coach said "The most important thing for Jrue to do right now is be with his wife and family," "Every one of our coaches and players understands what Lauren and Jrue are going through, and they know we're behind them 100 percent." It must be a scary situation, but with everybody supporting Jrue and Lauren there is no doubt in my mind that everything will turn out fine and Jrue can get back the court before the seasons end. By MukOn Tuesday, a poll was released by NBA.com, which was a poll of all 38 first-year players, and the common theme among their voting: Kris Dunn. Now I don't wanna say I told you so just yet, but I told you so. I blogged over a month ago, that Minnesota was on the rise, and fast, and Kris was going to make an immediate impact (http://www.highlycontroversialsports.com/basketball/a-minnesota-winter-is-coming). Kris was voted most likely to win ROY by his peers, and was also voted as the best defender and best playmaker. In a class that is not deep in talent, but really loaded in the front end of the draft with some huge names and huge potential NBA superstars, Dunn is emerging as one of the best, and one of the best suited. Coming into probably the best team situation as any player in the top 10, the Wolves are a great fit for Kris, where he will mesh with his fellow young stars creating a team that I believe will give the Western Conference trouble for years to come. Kris has big time playmaking ability, can shoot from the outside well, and is a strong defender. He seems, at the moment, to be the player from the 2016 class who is NBA ready, and looked so very impressive in summer league before his concussion. Kris will be the starter at the point by the All-Star break, seeing big minutes at the point and SG before then, and he will finish with 12 points a game, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds a game, and will come up big in the clutch, and will bring the third straight ROY to Minnesota, where we all #TrustInThibs Kris's summer league highlights are worth the watch right here: More importantly, if you don't know the story of Kris Dunn, then you must watch his SC Featured, the kid has come a long way and has earned everything he's got |
